In the world today, appearance has a huge impact on how people view others or develop self-confidence within them. America is known as an obese nation compared to the rest of the world. Since this is true, people here are looking for the best way to lose weight. Those who are attempting to change their appearance search for the best workout routines, which inspires other people to create numerous fitness programs, to sell their products that supposedly guarantee positive results. The truth is that not everything people are told in fitness programs can give someone perfect results. Most usually turn to the “lose weight fast” magazine or newspaper articles, written by some personal trainer who believes that they know what they are talking about.…show more content…
Weightlifting is not only great for muscles; it is great for losing weight because muscles burn calories. Through weightlifting, one can train a certain part of the body, but by targeting a certain area of the body, one does not necessarily burn fat that is in that area. A lot of people believe that fat can be turned into muscle, but this is not true. There is fat and there is muscle; they are two completely different things that cannot magically become one another. The only thing fat can do is increase or decrease. The only thing muscle can do is also increase or decrease. So the idea that fat can be turned into muscle is 100% myth. If someone did somehow lose weight and gained muscle, then that is simply what occurred. It is possible to lose fat and gain muscle which can give off the belief that the fat simply turned into muscle, but what really happened were the loss of one and the gain of the other. In order to start a diet towards weight loss one must know how many calories they consume. This can be done by simply eating normally and note after each meal, including drinks, how many calories are consumed. Then at the end of the day, total how many calories were consumed and try to be as exact as possible. This gives the total of calories consumed daily. A good and efficient way to lose weight, one should consume 500 calories less than normal for a week. Also instead of eating 3 big meals a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner), one should spread the meals out to 5 smaller meals a day. Metabolism can be sped up by eating one meal every 2 and a half to 3 hours. It is important to watch what is consumed. Staying away from fast foods, fatty foods (cookies, chips, candy, etc.); will assist in the weight loss
