Running Head: TARGET-MARKET STRATEGY Target- Market Strategy MKT-245 Principles of Marketing Grand Canyon University August 22, 2010 The purpose of this paper is to inform the reader of my product and what are my strategy for entering the markets and what the potential barriers I may encounter. I would start off my giving my product a name that has a key phrase that describes the product category for the customers’ or potential customers’ mind. No matter how you brand your company, it must deliver on its promise. If you promote your brand with strong customer service, your customers better feel that way or it will fall flat. Speedy service can’t be slow.
After filing the 4th largest Bankruptcy in US history new executives were able to put together plans that would take the company in positive direction. The new direction of Global Crossing is to hold actions accountable for employees and management. New ethics policies allow for the company to act if there is a violation. By putting strict guidelines on ethics it will force sales and advertising executives to have the same standards as the rest of the company. New advertising campaigns will allow for Global Crossing to reach new markets which will maximize company revenue.

A business gains a competitive advantage when it has developed one single or various different qualities that have assisted it in beating out its competitors. When a business uses it attributes to create value for its company it has a strong competitive advantage. There two forms of competitive advantage the first is known as comparative advantage the second is differential advantage. In this paper I will be discussing how these forms of competitive advantage are utilized in the Pittsburgh’s Steelers franchise.

The luxury auto industry’s health varies depending on factors including: a country’s economic stability, the percentage of high-income citizens of a country, and the specific company being examined. Honing in on one company’s success in one country will provide a basic understanding of the workings of a successful multi-billion dollar corporation. For the purposes of this paper, the BMW Group is researched relative to the company’s success in the United States. There are many reasons why it has maintained its successfulness throughout the years, and has become the leader in United States luxury cars. The superb management of the corporation, as well as the customer loyalty the BMW Group possesses is due to the competitive advantages the large company exercises.

Porter’s five forces analysis is designed to provide a simple perspective for assessing and analyzing the competitive strength and position of any given company, namely for this lesson Zipcar. In reading the case work, I found that the competitive rivalry force for Zipcar is moderate to strong. Zipcar’s major competition stems from other rental car companies that provide similar services. Although, this is an issue for Zipcar, they have a competitive advantage over the competition due to the flexibility of the service that they provide and offer to the customers.
What can the Toyota marketing department do to develop advertising and marketing strategies to attain leadership in the segment? Some of the things they can do for the consumers to understand is to focus on making the 2004 Prius a “normal” car in design and feel with advantage of an HEV. Make the costumers loyal to the brand by providing better services than competitors. Create an awareness campaign to get the customers used to the product and the technology. Also make automobile magazines, bloggers and experts report about the good quality and reliability of HEVs.
