MEMO To: John Smith (Franchise Manager) From: Joe Smith (Public Relations) Date: 10/9/2013 Re: Menu Change Message: The current climate in the world today is a push to have companies and businesses be more socially responsible. They are calling on restaurants and food providers to give customers a more healthy food choice option when ordering from their menus. We here at McDonald’s have heard this call and are taking steps toward helping customers and employees make better choices when it comes to the food we serve. In response to their requests we are adding healthier food choices to our menus. These food choices will be made of organic ingredients as well as responsibly raised meat products such as chicken, beef, fish and pork. Menus will change on November 1st to reflect this change. We will be adding healthier menu options such as apples to the Happy Meal in place of French Fries. Milk will also be available to replace Soda for the Happy Meals. Additional produce side options and grilled chicken choices for Happy Meals will be available. More seasonal fruit and vegetables options will be available. New breakfast choices, including an egg-white breakfast sandwich on an English Muffin will also be available. We will also add chicken wraps with different vegetable options. McDonald’s will also issue a progress report every year to update anyone interested on our nutrional Journey.
