Because of my strengths, I tend to aspire to hold the top job in a huge organization. I refuse to be content with my performance until I have been declared the most successful, or accomplished person in the group. Keeping each week’s tasks and goals in mind probably improves my chances in being successful in life.
It is important when evaluating career variables because it helps me define my potential and where I want to spend my time working. It brought up a big question of do I want to waste my skills and talent for a job that will last for a few months or do I want settle for a career well I can accomplish all of my goals. CONCLUSION Being put in a team to do assignments can be very hard for some people because they may like to work alone. But if you think about it if you work in a team you can get the work done in half the time. It won’t put a strain on you worrying how can you get the work done, knowing you have to work and do other day to day things. As long as you designate who is going to be the leader and do what the leader tells you or ask you to do, the team will be fine. Just think how exciting your paper will be with all the other ideas, they may think of things you had no idea even existed.
That is my main function within the group, to facilitate the day-to-day actions of the other members. If something needs to get done, I assign a member that task and then follow up until completion. The only draw back so far is my aggressive attitude towards mission accomplishment has caused some of the other members to recent my approach. I do not always ask for things in a nice way, I think being direct is the quickest way to get something completed. The biggest affect that it has on the group is slowing down the amount of work that was getting completed.
The lessons and techniques that this article have provided me will be very beneficial. I have recommended this article to my boss, some of my peers, my wife and even my children. If we cannot grasp every moment, we are losing time. It is up to us to decide what “the moment” is, but no matter what it means to each person, I recommend that they not lose it. Showing up early, staying late, and working on your days off are all signs of a committed employee. I was paying close attention because I want a raise and need the extra money. This relates to the concept of mindful listening which means giving careful and thoughtful attention and responses to the messages we receive. (pg.220) I assume from now on I will be working on being early to work and making sure that I try to go above and beyond so I can move up at work and start making better money.
I think it will be better for me so that I won’t get confused by switching to a different learning style. This will be a better feel for the differences between the other styles of learning. Sometimes when I have to learn with other styles it’s a huge challenge for me because I have to focus on it so much to where I always end up saying “screw this, I’m done” and put it aside until the last minute then I realize that the assignment is due the next day and I still end up putting it aside. One of my big weaknesses that I run into a lot tends to be the most used learning style with most colleges. That weakness of mine is reading.
By which I mean taking the time to organize a schedule that works for you, you don't need to burn every brain cell you have, to do this either. I like to set aside a few hours a day to actively study, or even just to simply brush up on something, I set a personal goal to learn something new everyday. Cramming for an upcoming test has been proven to be ineffective, while allowing for very short term recall, this keeps you from being able to remeber information you need on a long term basis.
