Although textual websites are popular and serve a purpose, such as an online library, the University website will require a much more graphical structure to provide robust college courses in an online format. Therefore, the University’s emphasis shall be placed more on a graphical structure with text complimenting the graphical structure.
Website content plays a valuable role in ensuring that a website is a viable tool and fits the needs of all that will use the site. In general, good content will provide a well structured site that provides consistent usability and adequately servers the customer. Some benefits desired from sound structured content include:
• Increased Visibility: Ideal situation is to develop a website that invites customers in keeps them coming back. The objective is to develop a website that is alluring but yet provides usability, visual stimuli, and reliability. By including pictures, videos, animations, and graphics within the website increases its visibility in the sense that user stays more interested in the website.
• Immediate Credibility: Credibility is essential for a website as most people are leery of providing personal data online. Good content increases visibility that in turn will increase credibility. Security of data is a must and also increases credibility.
• A Fluid Website: As more content is uploaded and updated on the website; users visit and re-visit the website to keep up-to-date.
