Nowadays, the more developmental our life is, the more polluted environment is. In fact, to contribute to the development of humankind, the environment has had to absorb about 20 billion tons of CO2, 700 million tons of dust and 600 thousand tons of poisonous gases every year. Such polluted environment causes near 14 thousand of deaths all over the world each day. Those evidences suggests that to get a more perfect life at which people are not only wealthy but also healthy and safe, human need to find ways to protect environment. To build green city is one of intelligent strategies. In order to understand why green city becomes more and more common, it is necessary to know what a green city is and what its advantages are. A green city is defined simply as a city has many trees and a clean environment. Trees are planted as many as possible. They can be grown at any suitable places such as in both sides of roads, in the central land separating two traffic lanes, in the cities’ central flower gardens, in zoos, in parks, in gateways, in households’ own gardens, and even in roofs making “green roofs”. Some stark examples are green roof of City Hall in Chicago, Illinois and an intensive roof garden in Manhattan. Beside having many trees, the green city has to have a clean environment, including fresh air, non-polluted water and land. Therefore, in this city, people try their best to minimize the amount of smoke and rubbish released into the environment. They ride bicycles, travel on foots or ride public transports such as buses and trains instead of driving private motorbikes, motorcycles and automobiles at every time they can. Furthermore, they use clean energy like solar energy, wind energy and bioenergy in both manufacture and daily life. More importantly, awareness of residents living in the green city is very high. They are always self-conscious of throwing garbage
