Population Density and Standards of Living are different in each country. The population density can be acquired by diving the total population and total land area of the country. The Netherlands total population is 16,407,491 while Bangladesh has a total population of 141,822,300. Bangladesh’s Population Density = Total Population/Area (km²) =141,822,300/143,998 = 958 people per km² Netherlands’ Population Density = Total Population/Area (km²) = 16, 407,491/41,528 = 392 people per km² Comparing both countries, Bangladesh and the Netherlands are over-populated. The difference between these two countries is their standard of living. While the Netherlands is a highly-developed country, Bangladesh isn’t. The Netherlands is not well endowed with natural resources but it has been able to use technology to produce high-quality agricultural products for export to generate income. By using this method, they overcome the problem of their lack of natural resources. Bangladesh, on the other hand, also has insufficient mineral and energy resources, but it has not been able to use technology to generate export income in the same way as the Netherlands. Firstly, Bangladesh is not a factorized country with high technology. Bangladesh does not have the goods to export and earn money from trading even if it’s in a costal area. Bangladesh also has a big disadvantage in terms of development. This is because Bangladesh only has timber, coal and arable land. Bangladesh lacks many natural resources and therefore, must buy what they don’t have from different countries. This then consumes a lot of money and causes more problems for the country’s income.
