It has been and continues in some sectors to be very much about mass production and maximizing profits turned. According to some sources who would like to bash the inhumane butchering of animals, fast food industry is anything but ethical (History of, 2012). Watching this video makes me want to eat anything but meat, McDonald’s milkshakes, or anything McDonald’s in general. But due to the trend of Corporate Social Responsibility, many fast food chains have adopted a CSR and ethical model, such as Burger King and Chick-Fil-A. Values Drive Ethics I have chosen to review

False advertising is also another unpleasant practice that fast food companies use to lure in costumers. Some of these practices include no warning labels on advertisements like there are on dangerous things like tobacco and confusing labels on food served that lead customers into eating more calories than intended. David Zinczenko advocates that it is some of the fast food companies fault for the decline in America’s general health. At the end, David chooses not to complain about the legalities, but instead encourages us to let the justice system do its work. In the article David Zinczenko discusses “Shouldn't we know better than to eat two meals a day in fast-food restaurants” we the people of America should know by now that it is
Carter argues to support or enhance the key issues that eating meat is right based on superiority, self-consciousness, reasoning, moral capability, rights, duties, and sentience. Carter shows that the statement that animals have an interest in their own lives and that we should not treat them like things is a cornerstone in many vegetarian theories. But then he questions this argument in that even the smallest insect has an interest in its own life, but you do not see people actively opposing the killing of all living creatures. He also questions the statement that animals can even make this assertion and are not just living out of basic instinct. And, although a creature may try to stay alive, is it doing so out of the fact it doesn't want to die, or the basic instinct that it has to stay alive.
Is it worth it to search for a longer time to get the food that you want? “Further, whereas some areas might find it fairly easy to eat locally (in Washington State, for example, I’m less than fifty miles from industrial quantities of fresh produce, corn, wheat, beef, and milk), people in other parts of the country and the world would have to look farther afield.”. It may be a problem to search for the foods that you want because they may be in unusual areas that you may have never been (or wanted to go) before. You will just have to get over this fact if you want to become a locavore. As you can see, there are many things you must take into account if you want to make the choice to become a locavore.
The pleasures of eating In the article “The Pleasures of Eating,” by Wendell Berry talk about the responsibilities that we, as consumers have in food consumption. He criticizes modern American farming and rural life as well as the ignorance of consumers. In his article, Berry mentions several ways of what consumers can do to become more responsible eaters; however, because of the hurried lifestyle that most Americans, including my family, live today, is difficult to support Berry´s suggestions. The first suggestion of Berry’s list states, “participate in food production to the extent that you can” (paragraph 13). According to this claim, Berry suggests his readers to grow their own food since by doing so they will know everything
Mayra Morales AP English/ Comp Ms. Shultz 9 May 2012 Fast Food Nation ”This is a book about fast food, the values it embodies, and the world it has made. Mostly all these themes are portrayed in a negative way. How fast food industrialization has have changed the way American people eat and not only the American people- all the people of the world.

Ariel Kaminer wanted to start the conversation and create a contest to see who could tell people why it is ethical to eat meat. Said by Ariel Kaminer and Jay Bost, the winner of Ariel Kaminer’s contest, eating meat is ethical because since the beginning of human existence we have been eating meat to survive. The choice to eat meat has been ingrained into our habitual eating patterns. Creating none meat products would have environment ramifications.
