So many people were afraid and did this that there were many banks that ran out of money to give people and had to close. The consumer confidence was down which meant that their spending was down. Businesses were flooded along the Texas coast and lost all of their vital technology such as computers, telephones, and other office equipment. This caused a huge burden on many businesses and some businesses were totally destroyed, which left many workers unemployed. Many homes were flooded from the storm surge that got as high as twenty feet. In one city alone, 3,382 out of 3,400 homes were totally destroyed due to flooding. This causes thousands of people to become homeless and displaced.
Companies have deposited their waste in the lake, which has caused the lake to be shut down because humans are getting sick and even dying from the polluted waters. Viruses, pathogens, chemicals and toxins are all part of this pollution, which affects recreation, jobs, and habitats of animals. Fishermen have not spent money fishing for sport due to the drastic reduction of the salmon population at Lake Huron. Recreational hours at the lake have also seen a drastic decrease. This devastation affects a majority of the U.S. being one of our largest sources of fresh water, and will only continue to deplete, as companies carelessly dump their waste into the lake.
Agriculture receives 80% of the Colorado River supply, and much of this is wasted in inappropriate crop choices, e.g. cotton. As demand for water continues to rise, it is more than likely that a range of stakeholders will become angry at their wastage if it means their own water supply is increasing in cost or even cut. This is likely to include dwellers of highly populated cities environmentalists, recreationalists. Another major potential clash is within US Federal Governments – who are under pressure from their own politicians not to change water allocations.
The first couple of years were not easy for the settlers. The question is Why did so many colonist die? To start off with, one of the problems they faced was environmental problems. Many of Jamestown’s colonist died because of brackish water which was some salty water due to the mixture of fresh and salt water, because of the tides that would happen twice daily. Also, they would dump their human waste into the water and make it even more contaminated so when the people of Jamestown would drink or use the water it would make them ill and even to the point that they died.
The great depression meant that many of the families had lost their savings; it was horrible to know that all the money that they had saved throughout the years has just vanished so quickly. They were also afraid of the growing communist party; they wanted to abolish private companies, land and businesses. If this happened many of the middle class would lose their job where they were able to make money. Therefore because of this they saw Hitler as a strong leader who could help their country recover and
Citizens were treated differently than the ones in the West. East Germany was always facing repressions so the biggest problem was requiring all workers to work more. If they did not follow this new law then their income dropped by one-third of their original paycheck. This already showed how unfair the life was becoming in the East. Many of the workers became angry and started protesting against the government.

Huge advances in medicine while mothers die every day in childbirth, and children die every day from drinking dirty water. Billions spent on weapons to kill people instead of keeping them safe.” (Ban Ki-Moon) The human rights issue addressed in this quote is one that the whole world is facing and has been facing for millennia.
One problem that caught my eye was the Spanish Flu pandemic that killed so many during that time. It was a serious health problem because of the fact that we lost a lot of people and there seemed to be no cure in the beginning. 675,000 Americans
Nicholas Bloom, Author of Public Housing that Worked, acknowledges the skepticism of most Americans in saying,“Across the country public housing projects are being demolished at a record pace largely because most Americans believe that public housing has no chance of succeeding.” So why is public housing failing? And what will be done before thousands more Americans are left homeless. Public housing has created reliance on the government, unsafe living conditions, and large concentrations of poverty. Everyday events and common occurrences inside public housing would shock many, due to the high volume of violence. Also shocking is the high prevalence of health issues.
