WATER POLLUTION Water is essential to human and organisms to live. Water covers most of the world and makes up more of the world than land. Water comes from different sources. Water may surround us but there are still shortages. Water allows us to live but it could be harmful to our bodies when polluted. Humans and natural disasters can cause damage to the water supply. It is important to conserve water whenever possible.Many people take for granted the access to having clean water on a daily basis and are not aware of the true effect on those who do not have the same access. Clean water is becoming a necessity to survive more than ever before. If we all imagined waking up one day and not being able to get clean water, there would be more of an understanding in the need for solutions to creating clean water access for all. Water Consumes almost 75% of earth’s surface and is undoubtedly our most precious natural resource that exists on our planet today. There won’t be any living organism on our planet without water. Water Pollution occurs when a body of water is severely affected due to addition of large amount of materials to the water “With 87% of the world’s population or approximately 5.9 billion people using safe drinking-water sources, the world is on track to meet or even exceed the drinking-water target of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)”. The health dangers that the lack of clean water creates ranges in levels with the most severe being death. “More than 3.5 million people die each year from water-related disease; 84 percent are children. Nearly all deaths, 98 percent, occur in the developing world”.There are many waterborne diseases that contribute to poor health conditions. For example, “Diarrhoeal disease alone amounts to an estimated 4.1 % of the total DALY global burden of disease and is responsible for the deaths of 1.8 million
