Global warming will only cause an increase in these issues along with additional problems that could eventually end this civilization, if we don’t work hard on improving our efforts on managing all the different types of pollution and waste that contributes to this major concern. 2. Water Issues, was an extremely important area of local environmental concern this summer. 70% of our planet’s surface is water, but most of that is salt water. Freshwater though essential to life, is one of the rarest and most endangered resources on our progressively fragile planet.
Also it feels like drinking water that its fresh and tasty. To think of the costs of bottled water can benefit something else. For example, according to The Earth Policy institute in Washington “In Praise of Tap Water,”it takes 1.5 billion barrels of oil to make the bottle water, which could fuel 1 million cars a year instead. It is totally right and I personally agree, but this 1.5 billion barrels could save many people’s lives
If these people miss the sandy beaches they should go to another beach. You cannot control where the vegetation grows. I think Congress should announce this and start funding for dams to conserve the water in these lakes. Cargo ships are wasting money by having to make more trips and this really is unfortunate but it is what is necessary at this time. It is a lot safer anyways.
“Water: An Overlooked Essential Nutrient.” Water is crucial to our health. It makes up, on average, 60 percent of our body weight. Every system in our body depends on water. Lack of water can lead to dehydration, a condition that occurs when we don't have enough water in our body to carry on normal functions. However, there are other drinks that can aid in hydration as well; such as Gatorade and PowerAde.
Fracking is bad for the environment. People still need natural gas or oil to live their life. It will take time to get all of the bugs worked out of fracking. Fracking companies are using the new technology to insure the protection of the environment. Fracking is a cheaper way of obtaining gas.
Although these nutrients are essential to maintain plant and animal life, excessive amounts are detrimental. There are many fresh water streams and rivers that flow into the Chesapeake Bay. These streams and rivers are known as tributaries. Of all the tributaries, the Susquehanna, Potomac, and the James River account for 97 percent of the nitrogen entering the bay (Zynjuk, 1995). The United States Geological survey states 600 million pounds of nitrogen entered the bay through these three rivers in a two year span (Zynjuk, 1995).
The easiest way to treat dehydration is to simply drink lots of water, however this takes time and in extreme cases you would have to be treated with an IV. When being treated with an IV you receive fluids directly into your blood stream this allows your body to recover faster and more efficiently. You also need to keep your body from losing water during this rehabilitation process, which means you need to stop doing whatever activity caused you to become dehydrated in the first place while you receive treatment, usually in the shade if you are outside or in more severe cases a climate controlled environment like a
This industry currently provides many jobs and has become important economically to the area. The salmon industry as well as other human influences are causing problems for the fish. Their complex life cycle and habitat needs are being adversely affected, and their numbers are decreasing. They are becoming less of a sustainable resource. The effects of industry
This is a gradual process that takes time. However, the longer it takes to accomplish this task, the more lives that are being lost. This is why people think the government needs to speed up their efforts. "Although about 130 million more of the region's residents have gained access to clean water since 1990, the report states, governments are not moving quickly enough to meet the United Nations' goal of providing three-fourths of the population with safe drinking water by 2015"(LaFraniere). The government should speed up their efforts to provide drinking water to these underdeveloped countries to reduce the number of deaths related.
Water is essential for healthy living and is important in meeting with Agricultural, Industrial and Domestic needs in both urban and rural areas. It is a common denominator required by all classes of society. However, due to an overburden of population, unplanned urbanization and industrialization, the quality of water has gone through high levels of degradation caused by the release of contaminants, detrimental to human health, into waterways such as streams and Rivers (Kumarasamy, 2015). When pollutants enter into a water system, they cause distortions within the water body as it moves downstream. It is common to consider pollution to streams as being transported from industries and cities which release waste water into water courses such as lakes, rivers and streams through designated and established point sources.
