We the Achievers, are proposing on how we can conserve water in the school and in the community as a whole. We feel that with water conservation, it would help lower the amount of cost to the school, and also at home it would lower the cost and resources we have for ourselves and future staff and students. In addition to saving money on your utility bill water conservation helps prevent water pollution in nearby lakes, rivers and local watersheds. Conserving water can also extend the life of your septic system by reducing soil saturation, and reducing any pollution due to leaks. We have a few helpful hints and tips that would go a long way to help conserve water. * Check faucets and pipes for leaks: a small drip from worn faucet washers can waste 20 gallons per day. * Don’t use toilets as ashtrays: every time you flush a cigarette butt or facial tissue 5 to seven gallons of water is wasted. * Take shorter showers: a four minute shower uses 20 to 40 gallons of water. * Turn off the water when brushing your teeth: leaving the water running can use 3 to 5 gallons of water. * Turn off faucet when you clean your vegetables: just rinse them in a Stoppard sink * Turn off hose while washing the car: clean the car using a pail of soapy water use the hose for rinsing only, this simple practice can save as much as 150 gallons when washing your car, * Use a broom to clean your
