Managing waste in any community is an important part of providing a safe and healthy living environment for the people. State government laws require local governments to manage waste in their local areas and to prevent it causing health or environmental problems. Well waste management has fail to do that in so many ways, and has blinded society with their advertisements and TV commercials emphasizing the numbers of trees being saved through recycling, and the amount of land it has set aside for the wildlife habitats. They also talk about how much energy it generates through incineration, but they fail to disclose the green washing effect it has on our society and that’s what I’m here to do today. I want to inform you of the things that waste management has not told you about the recycling techniques that they use and what effects it causes. The Green Washing Effect Waste Management Has On Our Environment The most important thing is knowing what waste management is and what it does in our environment to help and pollute it. Waste that is not properly managed can create serious health or social problems in a community. Food waste attracts pests and vermin, like feral pigs and rats. These pests and vermin can start or spread disease in the community. Piles of old garden waste and pieces of old furniture left in yards can shelter vermin and help them to breed. Dengue fever can be spread by mosquitoes that breed in anything that can hold water, like inside old car tires, litter and even old palm fronds lying on the ground.
