Walking with confidence 10,000 steps is what the average able-bodied individual walks a day. In those 10,000 steps, how many of those steps are you walking in fear? Fact is, most individuals are afraid of the simple task of walking. So quick to pull out that handy sidekick and literally try to look busy on the cell phone. How many of you care about how others perceive you? We all know the expression “a picture’s worth a 1,000 words.” What picture are you painting for others when you walk into a room, an event, work, or even something as simple as the grocery store? Is your walk screaming I have confidence? Walking is a basic task. Unless of course you want to be somebody, you better act and walk like you are somebody. Here are a few steps on how to do just that, how to walk with confidence. All you need is yourself and the right mindset. Step 1 is quite simple. Why some have yet to master this, is beyond any reasonable excuse I can think of. Don’t ever slouch when you walk. One the best ways to come off confident is to walk tall. Make sure your back is straight and your shoulders follow suit. Step 1 is all about great posture. Make sure you have it! Don’t make the mistake of walking into the room looking like Eyore. Remember when I told you that you needed to have the right mind set for all of this? To achieve great posture before walking into a room you literally need to think to yourself am I Eyore or am I Leonidas. So obviously, with choosing Leonidas, as you walk your 300 behind you as you enter into that room, what do you do next? Next you do step 2. Step 2 consists of what your doing with your eyes. Your eyes should be straight ahead without looking at the ground or looking lost. Making eye contact with everyone you pass is not necessary.
