BANG!!!! “Shots fired” or “Officer down” is all so common in our local communities, backyard and nearby school. The war on drug our local officers and drug dealer in our communities. Since early history, drugs have been a major problem in society. As early as the 1960’s and 70’s, our Officers have been dealing with numerous drug lords invading the street of Miami Police officer have been trying to find ways to catch drugs dealers and cleaning out our communities for decades.
New Orleans Crime in the 1920s Crime in the 1920s was a problem in all major cities, but New Orleans crime was one of the top ranked in the United States. New Orleans crime in the 1920s is not quite the same as it is in Louisiana today, back then the police were worried about alcohol and prostitution more than anything else. While the police were worried about prostitution and illegal substances the mafia was steadily growing present. With the passing of prohibition, it started creating the mafia with the illegal production and distribution of alcohol. Which also had created corruption in the police force by being paid off by the new and ever present mafia.
Northern cliques may have conflict with other Norteno gangs on the streets, yet in prison they will bond together for protection under the leadership of the Nuestra Familia. The Nuestra Familia has a chain of command that oversees every Norteno gang in California. Nortenos have been identified in nearly every state in the United States of America. Nortenos have continued to be heavily involved in murders, felony assaults, thefts and drug sales. Northern gangs are bitter enemies to the EME and Southern street gangs.
According to International Trafficking (2010), victims of human trafficking are traded inside of their own country's border as well as inside of the border of another country. Drug trafficking is another big issue, particularly around the United States borders. According to the New World Encyclopedia (2009), drug trades is a production of the black market. In some parts of the world, trading drugs is not enforced among all people. There is a large profit that can result from drug trafficking, which could be one of the reasons behind the crime not always being viewed under a zero tolerance policy.
The primary cause of violence in the African-American community is gang activity. These sobering statistics are affecting our community in a terrible way. Street gangs have been around since the nineteenth century. (CITATION) Gang violence is a problem in every major city in the United States and membership in gangs is on the rise The FBI’s 2011 National Gang Threat Assessment report states that there are more than 1.4 million active gang members in the United States. This is a 40% increase over the estimated 1-million gang members in 2009.
They were like gangs but instead of being about power and crime they were al about drugs and money. One of the largest drug cartels is the Mexican drug cartel. The Mexican drug cartel is known for being murderous, dangerous, and remarkably effective at smuggling large quantites of illegal drugs into the united states. (Lacey 2009). The Mexican drug cartel is very structured although some don’t think they are a true cartel they are.
