VIOLENT AND ACTION PACKED MOVIES SHOULD BE ALLOWED ON NATIONAL TELEVISION People tend to recognize that violence and action packed movies are the elements of media that helps to contribute to the crimes in real life. We can say that most parents out there are worrying if their children behaviors will become aggressive and react negatively. However, did anyone thought that there might be some hidden benefits that we could not see because of our stereotyping mind set of negative influences derived from this kind of movies? For me, I believe that these kinds of movies have their own positive sides for the audiences and there are some good reasons to broadcast this type of movies on national television. Firstly, there have been some researchers showed that violent movies could help people anticipate other benefits such as thrill and suspense. Those findings suggest that such hedonistic pleasures are only part of the story about why we willingly expose ourselves to scenes full of bloodshed and aggression. Violent or action packed movies promise to satisfy truth-seeking motivations by offering meaningful insights into some aspects of the human condition. Perhaps, depiction of violence that perceived as meaningful, moving and thought-provoking can foster empathy with victims, admiration for acts of courage and moral beauty in the face of or violence or self-reflection with regard in violence impulses. Next, viewing media violence is therapeutic instead of toxic. It may actually help to reduce aggression because violent movies may offer viewers especially the young males a way to explore their violent tendencies without hurting anyone. For example, it could entertain the individuals who have had an eventful day at workplace.
