Viewpoint Comparison Paper There are a lot of different magazines, each with its own viewpoints. Focusing on a specific circle of readers based on the reader’s ethnic, social, educational and income characteristics. This paper will view two different magazines: the first one is Men’s Journal (May 2010) and the second one is Glamour (January 2011). The two magazines’ viewpoints will be established and then two articles, one from each magazine will compared. The two magazines have very different viewpoints and are focused on two very different types of audience, but still have some things in common. The first magazine that is going to be observed is Men’s Journal. The cover page displays the famous actor Robert Downey Jr. in a martial art’s stand with the headline: “The fighting life of Robert Downey Jr.”. The rest of the cover page is in headlines about adventures, extreme sports and sport equipment. They are typed in a simple black font and only one article is collared yellow to draw attention to the most powerful motorcycle ever. As openly stated in the magazine its purpose is to show the best gear and travel destinations, plus guides to men's health, fitness, food, drinks, adventures, and style. The table of content shows the reader what the magazine is about. The first section is called “adventure special” and it is about expeditions, hiking and a race across New Zealand. Next is the style portion, in which is the article about Downey Jr.’s martial arts passion. Then there is the travel section, which includes articles like – “A real Mexican getaway” and “The frequent-flier kings of big-wave surfing”. There is another section about mind and body, which contains tips how to cook a better breakfast or which sunscreens are good for you. The final section is about gear and it includes articles about what should be brought to a hike, the best new tennis rackets
