This devastation affects a majority of the U.S. being one of our largest sources of fresh water, and will only continue to deplete, as companies carelessly dump their waste into the lake. Consumption of fish from this lake will soon be obsolete if immediate action is not taken. These are all things that need to be considered by industrial businesses, families, merchants, fishermen, and environmentalists. As long as the waters are polluted the economy will experience great loss, and may even see jobs created by the Great Lake, eventually
But with all the problems that face Chelyabinsk, the people still dump liquid radioactive waste into the lake every year. The situation at Lake Karachay is not getting any
One way is to have a role of global media coverage that will handle the information about the contaminated water in the area towns. The one effect of the globalization of communication is that reports from the media about the crisis situation can make the government react to the outcome of the media coverage. The way in which the media has to put information out to the public has become an issue of importance itself (Ale, Kersten, Voort, Vos, & Zoeteman, 2010). My team and I can deny any of the false information that the media is putting out, and provide accurate information, which would help keep the public from panicking. These technologies can be used to improve the communication with my team and increase the public trust that the situation is getting
While China has advanced sanitarily, there are still 2.6 billion people in the world who do not have access to any toilet at all. According to George, “The 1.8 million child deaths each year related to clean water and sanitation dwarf the casualties associated with violent conflict. No act of terrorism generates economic devastation on the scale of the crisis in water and sanitation” (George, 68). In other words, what can be more important than our next generation of leaders dying due to the water and sanitation crisis. In addition to sanitation within public toilets affecting the nation’s everyday lives, sociability is also an issue that public toilets take
Reflection Paper (The Drought) By Anon The state of California is going through one of the worst droughts ever recorded in the past 100 years(California’s Drought). It’s no surprise that with the lack of rain we have had in the past two years, water reservoirs are reaching an all-time low. They are constantly working in overtime trying to provide the residents of California with the water needed to sustain their households. Although we are putting pressure on our water reservoirs, it’s still not enough to get us by anymore and the government has also asked that people cut back on water usage. It’s sad to think that the state of California has already had a couple of cities run out of water.
“Our world is one of terrible contradictions. Plenty of food, but one billion people go hungry. Lavish lifestyles for a few, but poverty for too many others. Huge advances in medicine while mothers die every day in childbirth, and children die every day from drinking dirty water. Billions spent on weapons to kill people instead of keeping them safe.” (Ban Ki-Moon) The human rights issue addressed in this quote is one that the whole world is facing and has been facing for millennia.
It’s a waste because clean water is not an abundant resource and it will eventually run out. The amount of water used per year for fracking needs to be monitored. Earlier this year in Northern Ohio, over 400,000 residents were left without safe water due to widespread contamination. Residents were even advised not to shower due to the
To do that, they diverted ¼ of the Athabasca River towards their mines. With all that water coming in, the excess water is used for tailing ponds; these ponds are where the toxic waste is dumped. Unfortunately, birds are unable to tell the difference between real ponds and these toxic ponds. So when these birds enter these ponds, they die a preventable death. The second huge impact the Alberta Tar Sands has is on the people.
It was literally a dumping ground and it even caught on fire a few times due to the toxic wastes. The phosphorus levels in Lake Erie are increasing due to the pollution causing harm to the fishes that reside in it. In 2014, Lake Erie had so much algae from pollution that it caused the City of Toledo to be left without fresh water. This algae was caused by the excessive amount of phosphorus in the lake. This excessive amount of Phosphorus is caused when the fertilizer is dumped into the lake by farmers.
Noncompliance is dangerous for the patient and frustrating for the physician. Up to 11% of hospital admissions, 40% of nursing home admissions, and about 125,000 deaths a year are due to noncompliance with prescribed medication regimens, according to the American Pharmacists Association “Drugs don't work in patients who don't take them (APA, 1994)." It should not be different if the patient is indigent and can not pay the bill because as a healthcare professional you should always treat every patient with the same respect disregarding there economic standpoint, race, or color. The way the economy has been the last couple years has had a big impact on why more patients are noncompliant. Patients will not buy or take medications if they can not afford it.
