In the Transylvanian region, he looted and burned villages and brutalized German merchants. He murdered men, women, and children by hoisting them onto long, sharp stakes that ran through the length of their bodies, which is how he received the name, Vlad the Impaler. In 1462, Walachian nobles deposed him. He fled to Hungary where he was kept under house arrest for twelve years. He returned in 1476 and soon after was killed in battle by a combined Turkish-Walachian force.
Cambodian Genocide In April 1975 the leader Pol Pot and group known as the Khmer Rouge took over Cambodia. There has been a civil war in Cambodia ever since 1970. In the Vietnam War the United States bombed parts of Cambodia and also managed to get Cambodian politics to support Lon Nol as the new leader of Cambodia. The Khmer Rouge used that as a way to recruit people and gave them a reason to have harsh rules. The Khmer Rouge killed basically killed everyone that was intelligent so that no one would over power them.
This unhappiness began to manifest itself in violent opposition from large numbers of peasant, particularly in the wealthier agricultural areas, as they had more to lose to the state that the poorer farmers. Rather than allow their property to go to the collective, these farmers would set fire to their land and slaughter their livestock. These oppositions were dealt with by the dekulakisation squads, who were often ruthless in the way that they eliminated peasant and kulak opposition alike . The civilians of El Mozote were imprisoned without resistance by the Atlacati Battalion. The Atlacati was a infantry specialized in counter warfare. After being locked in their homes, on December 11 they were put in groups and executed. The army killed 200 to 1000 civilians. Among these that were executed also included many women and children.

A group of rangers goes in to the town to take down two of the dictator’s right hand men. While going in for the mission two of the black hawks sent in get shot down and now the military has to go into the war zone and search for survivors. On that night, Nishapur had three thousand crossbows and three hundred mangonels and ballistas and a correspondent quantity of missiles and naphtha, yet they were still not able to keep the Mongols back. By the following Saturday night, every wall was covered with Mongols, the Mongols descended from the walls and began to slay and plunder the city. They drove all the survivours, men and women, onto the plain and desecrated the city, to where not even cats or dogs were left alive. The Mongols severed heads from the slain and heaped them in piles, keeping the men’s heads separate from women and children; a Persian chronicler reported that there were up to 1,747,000 deaths within the city. These accounts of murder show how the Mongols laid waste to cities and murdered without care to gender, age, race, or ethnicity.
Over 3,000 men were killed - mostly rebels. Warwick tried most of the leaders the next day and hanged on the city gallows. Up to 300 men were executed.
