With advancements in technology, some students have chosen to complete their schoolwork through the Internet, rather than in traditional classrooms. Those who support a traditional classroom approach to learning argue that it provides more of an opportunity for students to interact with the teacher and other students. Those who feel that learning over the Internet is better argue that it allows students to learn anytime and anywhere they choose. Do you feel education is better provided in traditional classrooms or when offered over the Internet? However, the documentary fails to acknowledge how the internet has helped kids by providing ways to find answers and acquire research and knowledge. Instead of exploring all the negatives found from the internet and kids growing up with the internet, the positives should also be discovered. The Frontline documentary also revealed that the internet has allowed kids to escape reality by having a “life” online. The internet helps kids express themselves through websites like MySpace, Facebook and blogs. The documentary goes on about how by letting the students have a life outside of reality can cause kids to have insecurity issues and have negative images for themselves.
The Internet is a technology that changed the way we read. The Internet causes us to loose focus or to just skim through information really quickly. The need to get information quickly, rather than spending the time to read a book, is due to the Internet. When I need to read something for a class I would much rather go to Spark Notes on the Internet, rather than read a complete book. The Internet has helped reading to evolve.
However, college students need to understand that using social networking sites religiously is not just an issue about the amount of time devoted towards schoolwork, but that it can literally change how they think. Social networking sites, along with Google and Wikipedia, are influencing how college students process information. Facebook is a great tool to keep in touch with friends, but the Internet needs to be used for educational purposes. Although the Internet can be used for educational purposes, the usage of sites like Facebook, Wikipedia, and Google have negatively changed the way college students think. Some credit can be laid upon the student, but ultimately we as a society need to fundamentally change how people use the Internet.
There are many reasons to choose online and many reasons to choose traditional. There are some similarities to both, but there are also some differences. First off, there are benefits for going to school online and getting a degree. For example, working full time, raising a family and having a home, can be difficult to commute to school every day. By going to school online, you do not need to go to classes every day, and instead, you can access your homework from the school’s website.

A unique way of text messaging on a phone is that the text message can be quickly transmitted to another person without taking up a large amount of time. Text messaging is also private. Turkle indicates that elementary school students’ use of computers and Internet change their way of thinking. At that point she began to study not only what computers do for us, but also what they do to us (348). Furthermore, Turkle affirms that machines are now being designed to serve as a companion and that technology does not determine changes, but it encourages us to take certain directions. Based on her experience, Turkle explains the relationship between privacy and technology. The use of technology is affecting students especially in high school and college.

While the march of technology steams on it I not as easy as plugging in a computer to improve the academic ability of students, there is a lot of thought that must go into the integration of technology, and not just a mad grab for the internet. While technology is a great wielder of information and communication it is also a trap for procrastination. One can not look at the world of technology as a toy, for doing so limits even the best students and dooms the weakest. By accepting and even embracing technology allows teachers to grow the minds of children.
It probably took them twice as long just to get things done. One of the biggest improvements in technology that helps the classroom would be the internet. Many times there is just not enough information from books and magazines, and students now can access all different kinds of information using the internet. Students can also create websites which will assist them and make the job of the teacher easier. This is fun for the students to do, and they can post short stories, poems, class homework, and many personally created activities.
