Ethics and Values in Academia Ethics and values in academia, is what drives communities to co-exist in throughout the world. According to the University Of Phoenix Student Code Of Conduct, students are expected to act in a manner that adheres to high moral principles and professional standards befitting a responsible member of the academic community. They must willingly demonstrate courteous and respectful communication when engaged in any and all forms of communication related to academia. Students of the University of Phoenix must recognize they have an obligation to adhere to the rules and standards outlined in the Code of Conduct and other University Policies as listed in the University Catalog. Ethics and values are the foundations which make students responsible for upholding the integrity of the school, while providing a healthy surrounding community in which they can reside and learn. They are the set of rules which assures the governing academic body that each student would get out what they put in to their education which is exactly what they contribute. Violations of the Student Code of Conduct will be deemed misconduct and shall be subject to appropriate disciplinary action.. Now after upholding the ethical standards throughout the years; the Integrity of the University Of Phoenix has made it possible for students to learn the student code of conduct worldwide, which are an essential part of a students success and the driving force behind a community’s existence. The University Of Phoenix pioneered the online classroom movement by upholding these values and making them available to communities worldwide. The ““Online graduating class of 2009 is representative of all 50 U.S. states, as well as an International community of 44 countries“”. This is quite an accomplishment compared to other schools because it enforces the ethics and values of education and transcends them throughout communities worldwide. Combining various ethical values from remote locations in the world and forcing them to work together in groups, teaches people and their ethnic diverse communities that we can co-exist with one another.
