Explain three differences between a working relationship and a personal relationship. * In a working relationship I am unable to express my opinions in an argumentative way. I must stay professional at all times which mean’s no confrontational behaviour and also take other people’s opinions into consideration. However, in a personal relationship I am able to express my opinions and values however I wish to, as I am able to be confrontational.
As human service professionals we do not reveal ourselves to our clients. It is also different in that the responsibility for the health of the relationship is not shared equally; it lies more with the professional then the client. The professional is also responsible for building and maintaining boundaries in the relationship. (Hartly, S. (2002)). Furthermore, the professional relationship is built for a specific reason.
