New standards reflect the changes in the profession, such as the emphasis on personalised, quality services, the focus on tackling exclusion, and the influence of the culture of rights and responsibilities. An example is if you are completely against the death penalty, that is a value or belief of yours so therefore you probably would not become a corrections officer. Another example is if you value young people and believe that you can make a difference in their lives then that may affect your working practice in the aspect of you becoming a teacher or something close to that. My opinion is if you negatively look at something which is because of a value or belief then you will not want anything to do with that in a job, but if you positively value or believe in something it may be something you would want to work with. Personal experience definitely does affect your working practice because if you grew up with a carpenter that is a dad and you helped him out while you were young up until you were grown, like my brothers did then they could always turn to that as a job if they wanted to. Also, personal experiences could affect a person’s working practice if they grew up spending a lot of time in hospitals sick they may not want to work with anything having to do with medical, or vice
