Toni Able Mrs. Railsback Advanced Composition 1 29 February 2012 The Art of Uniqueness Today I decided to visit my older brother at his music studio. He stayed late there and I was wondering what he was working on. When I walked in, I saw him and he looked very frustrated. I asked him what was wrong. He said that he was trying to make his song better. He wanted to make it more unique because his song sounded too plain to him. Uniqueness is the ability to be different, not ordinary, or to have character. The ability to be different is a big factor in being unique. For some people it's very hard, but for others it's very easy. Many careers require the ability to be different. For clothing designers, they have to come up with appealing outfits. They also have to make the clothes they create very different and interesting so that when they get to stores, people will buy them. Artists have to be different in many ways. They have to think differently than others to create very expressive artwork. An artist's artwork also has to be different in a way that others will have to try and decipher what it portrays. Another huge factor in uniqueness is not being ordinary. Many people's jobs or careers require them to create something of their own or something that is not ordinary. For example, when dancers dance, they create their own style of dance and they create their own way of doing things. Singers and songwriters also create things that are not ordinary. They express their feelings through lyrics, style of music, and through the way they voice the words. They create their own style and way of producing music with descriptive words and powerful music. In addition to being different, a person has to have character to be unique. People who play sports have to have the desire to want to play them. They have to have good sportsmanship and a good attitude when
