There are many aspects that surround ethical behavior in the workplace. Ethics simply refer to what is right or what is wrong, according to certain groups of people or certain communities. Successful businesses recognize the need for ethics in the workplace and address this with the company code of ethics. These include fair treatment of employees, honesty in the methods that the company deals with customers, suppliers, and even competitors. Businesses' need well established operational procedures if they are to succeed. A code of ethics has three basic segments. These segments are legal, moral, and professional (Miranda, 2012). It is commonly understood that organizations as well as their employees have to abide by federal and state directives, and this generally provides a premise of their ethical code. Employees and employers of different companies or organizations often shape the ethical behavior, and the unethical behavior of their various companies. This is why one aspect may be right to a certain company and yet totally wrong according to a different company. However, it is essential in noting that leaders as well as staff members should work in an environment that appreciates respect and equal opportunity. Reinforcement of ethical conduct in the workplace is the duty of employers and employees. Some individuals however, think that employers should have total responsibility of maintaining ethical deeds in the workplace. Hence, there is the belief that employers are the main perpetrators of unethical behavior in organizations. Managers and those in positions of leadership should be at the forefront in upholding ethical behavior in the workplace because they are the leaders of an organization. Leaders are responsible for setting the tone for what is acceptable as well as unacceptable within the eyes of his or her employees. Unethical Behavior versus
