he's motivation was to keep everyone safe, and stick threw it till the end. Ralph not only is a hero, but truely the only optimistic person threw out the story. The other children of the island elect him as the leader of the island because of he took control and tried to bring order amunst the others. examples of ralphs attempts to bring order to the island include, the conch shell, piggies glasses, buliding huts, fire, and establishing roles for the other islanders. when the boys first arive on the island, Ralph finds a conch shell that he uses to not only bring order, but to gather everyone that survived together.
The boys turn away from Jack initially, not ready to accept his violent leadership, but eventually found comfort in his strength and safety from the beast. They want to follow Jack's lead because he is more like them. He wants the same things they do. Jack doesn't want to work, only to play like the rest of them. He understands their fears and helps the boys to overcome them by making them stronger.
The first Helmholtz Watson is one of them. He does not like the utopia, because when he was created they made him too smart. This makes Helmholtz want more then the utopian society can provide for him, resulting in him exploring his boundaries. Helmholtz wants to see what else there is in the world, because he will never truly be satisfied with his current state. He wants to see what it is like outside of his utopian society.
An example of this is when Jack is ‘going to beat Wilfred’ just for the sake of it. In the rest of the novel, Golding only refers to Jack as ’the chief’. This is because he doesn’t see the rest of the boys as human beings, which might explain why he is able to
The best example is Ralph and Jack, when they are willing to do everything to be the leader. Overall there is a big difference between them. In other words, Jack fails to realize the boys need security, stability and order in their society. In William Golding's novel, Lord of the Flies Ralph though not the stronger person, demonstrates a better understanding of people than Jack, which gives him better leadership. Ralph shows useful human qualities as a leader by having attention to boys' society.
Lord of the flies: Leadership debate This writing assignment is to debate the leadership qualities of Jack, Ralph, Piggy and Simon, and conclude who is best suited for the role of chief of the big group of boys stranded on an island. Jack is the more confident and aggressive character who’s personality comes across quite strongly in this story. Having come from a well off family and having been spoilt, Jack does not tolerate defiance or argument. Having been chapter chorister Jack is a figure of authority, and has experience in being the leader of a group. Ralph is the organized one of the four boys and has a very selfless character.
This makes him more of a well respected leader because of how he handles his behaviors and showing his tribe how strong minded he is and how he will hold his ground if something bad were to ever happen. A leader should not care what others think about him because it impairs his decision- making and judgment. In Lord of The Flies, Ralph has a different style of leadership from the other boys. Ralph is a moral leader who is liked by many people. However, Ralph doesn't realize that to be a good leader, one must separate himself from the average person.
And what he does is what’s best for himself and his people. He thinks ahead of what he is doing at the moment so that he can see what the effect of what he is about to do later. And that is why in my opinion Caesar is the noblest Roman of all of the Romans he is smart with what he does and he obviously cares about his people. He is not a force to be reckoned with because he is very powerful and will destroy anyone in his path of
Furthermore Jack’s use of the word ‘should’ instead of could or would, to describe Roy, signifies how, at that point, Jack thinks that all other forms of manhood, other than Roy’s, is not correct . Jack admires Roy and over his time with Roy Jack sees the control and power Roy possess over Rosemary. This leads to Jack thinking that holding ‘power and control’ is necessary for being ‘masculine’. Knowing that he does not own these traits, Jack feels as though he is not a real man and for this purpose is not in favor of who he is. Jack feels the stress of the expectations of manhood from society, he perceives himself as not being manly when comparing himself to the ‘values’ of being a man, and consequently it is these feelings of insufficiency that make him despise who he
I think the founding principle for my moral code is the Principle of Truth Telling and Honesty that the textbook discusses on pages 149 and 150. I believe every human being should be 100 % honest and forthcoming even if it causes temporary discomfort and pain for another human being(s). This means always refraining from lying, cheating and stealing even if it may personally benefit you, your friends, your co-workers or loved ones and family members. Being honest with yourself and others makes you a trustworthy person. Honesty breeds self-respect and garners the respect of others which allows you to live life with a clear conscience because you know you are striving for utmost integrity at all times under all circumstances.
