The Snowy Owl is a white, thick bodied bird. It's a bird of prey, and hunts for its prey at night. This majestic feathery animal benefits man kind by eating mice, rats, etc. The way this bird survives in the freezing arctic temperatures is its luxurious coat of feathers and its fluffy feet. The snowy owl has a large, broad head and saucer shaped feathers around its enlarged, binocular visioned eyes.
China happens to contain a total of 60% of the habitats compared to those areas. Snow Leopards prefer broken terrain of cliffs, rocky outcrops and ravines. These types of habitats provide good cover and a clear view to find prey. Invasive Species It’s not competing with any other invasive species at this point in time because these animals can eat animals up to two times their own size. However the Snow Leopard does compete with hunters who illegally hunt them for the selling’s of their organs.
The average Florida Panther needs about three thousand calories per day to keep them going. Pregnant females need about eight thousand calories and growing kittens need about twenty thousand calories per day to survive. They tend to eat larger animals, such as deer and wild pigs, but also eat raccoons, armadillos, rabbits, and other smaller game. They are not all carnivorous though, they will occasionally eat some plants. At night, when this remarkable animal is wide awake, they travel in zig-zag patterns while they hunt and defend their territory.
Since panthers sometimes eat livestock off of farms, farmers would set up traps, poisons, or even just shoot them in order to prevent them from eating their livestock. They were also hunted for recreational reasons. Other people hunt Florida Panthers for their
Massasaugas rattlesnakes hibernate in the Winter and are alone or in small groups. They are also good swimmers. What does the rattlesnake eat? Eastern Massasauga rattlesnakes eat small mammals, amphibians and insects. Eastern Massasauga Rattlesnakes have a pair of long hollow fangs that they can inject venom into their prey.
They are commonly found in trees, caves, and the ground and near limestone cliffs. During the day they have a tendency to hide in logs, crevices, and caves. The average size of the Brown Tree snake is between 3 & 6 feet in length. The largest snake recorded was 9.8 feet long in an unrecorded area. Although their venom isn’t not lethal to humans it is used to subdue and kill the prey, and they are also known to strangle their prey to death like the Boa Constrictor snakes.
When Arctic wolves hunt, they hunt in packs and they share their food together. They are very protective of their food. They aren’t extremely fast runners so they depend on stamina when hunting. They eat meat, such as: aribou, muskoxen, arctic hares, seals, ptarmigan, lemmings, and waterfowl; they also eat rodents sometimes. Their prey is sparsely located so they have to travel far to get their food.
If you hurt nature not only does it interrupt our eco system. For example, you all know the T-Rex. It was 40 feet long and weighed 5-7 tons. The long eared kit fox it was 45-54 cm. long and had huge ears for listening for its prey.
T**** Ms. H***** 1st Block 28 October 2010 Do Not Judge People by Their Looks To Kill a Mockingbird was written in the 1960’s by Harper Lee. This story takes place in Maycomb County; where Harper Lee was actually born and raised. In this book Harper Lee shows discrimination, prejudice, and racism. Appearances do not always reflect reality. In the beginning of the book Boo Radley is described scary, to illustrate, “Boo was about six-and-a-half feet tall, judging by his tracks; he dined on raw squirrels and any cats he could catch, this is why his hands were bloodstained…” (Lee 13).
Giraffes will fight if they have to, but will usually just try to outrun a predator. They often get a good head start on predators because they have great eyesight and get a good view of the territory with their great height. As a matter of fact, other animals know how good giraffes are at seeing predators, so they hang around with giraffes and, if they see the giraffes start to get nervous or take off running, they take off too. What do they eat? Giraffes are herbivores, meaning they eat plants rather than meat.
