I visited Fijian, German, Filipino, Polynesian, Serbian, Polish, Russian, Scottish, Ukrainian, Thai, Italian, and Vietnamese tents. The very first thing that came to mind when witnessing the Folk Fair was Disney’s Epcot. In my opinion, one of the best things about different cultures is the food, so I obviously couldn’t wait to taste the heritage. I was slightly disappointed to realize that I’ve tasted most of what as offered, until I ran into the Germans. A German man made me what seemed like a cinnamon apple pancake, and it was paradise in my mouth.

Popchips is a small company founded in San Francisco in 2007 by Keith Belling and Patrick Turpin. It offers popped potato chips in various flavors, sweet potato chips, and popped tortilla chips. The company provides its products through a network of retail stores in the United States and Canada, as well as online. The chips were created with to solve one problem; being embarrassed to eat a bag of fried chips out in public without having to resort to those bland baked chips.
It is not those who like to cheat and take the easy way out of things. People are buying cookies, candy, chips, and soda. They also throw big parties for the 4th of July with steaks and shrimp and fill their cart to the brim. Why is the government allowing such absurdity! A couple from Long Island was caught buying more than $120 in caviar with food stamps at a supermarket and then reselling it at a profit!

And, anyone who purchases Quaker products knows that they are a long time tried and true company that sells healthy products that are good for you. Throughout the commercial we are also presented with logos more than one time. This is first shown to the audience when a younger boy that hates everything digs into Life cereal. So logic would say that

(Harris, Schwartz, & Brownell, 2012) Perhaps the aspect of the attacks against Kellogg that is most worthy of note is the fact that regardless of how inaccurate their health claims may be, it is simply a marketing technique used by many other companies with the common goal of driving profits. Even if such false advertisements are eliminated in the future many more battles are ahead.

As I waddled my way home, regretting that last plate of food (so delicious…), I thought “This fortune sounds like something Joel Osteen would say.” And then it struck me—there is very little difference between Joel and those fortune cookies (except that the cookies are delicious, of course). I do believe sugar can be addicting because I myself have never gone a day without having some kind of sugar. Lustig, Schmidt, and Brindis states how “[o]ver the 50 years consumption of sugar has tripled world wide.” Instead of fixing the problem we are just getting worse. Since sugar is “cheap” we should make it more make it more expensive and hope for a change. Also, even though petitions keep getting “denied” we shouldn’t give up until there is a change. My uncle has diabetes and every time he sees me eating chocolate or some sort of candy he tells me that I’m going to end up dying from diabetes also because that’s all he would eat, I wouldn’t really take him seriously I would just laugh about it.
