Junk food companies usually target kids for profit. They know that kids have bodies that easily get addicted to things. They use that to their advantage. They put up commercials that show beautiful people having fun while consuming junk food. Kids see that and feel like having that much fun so they start consuming junk food as well.
Bullying victims can have a lot of stress added on and it can lead to retaliation such as school shootings as well as suicide. Cyber bullying is the more modern type of bullying and some argue that it's the most harmful. When it comes to cyber bullying anyone can become the bully. The small scrawny kid can be just as harmful as the big kid on the playground. Cyber bullying can have a longer lasting effect on the victim.
When making your own food choices, junk food can have an effect on your appearance. During our teen years is when you are trying to take pride in yourself physically. This is the time where you are developing certain features. Consuming junk foods take a huge toll on one’s development and does not quite cooperate well with the body. One’s appearance also affects a person emotionally.
Teen obesity can also affect mental health. For example some psychological problems associated with obesity are negative body image or depression, which can lead to viscous cycle of staying home watching TV, snacking, gaining more weight and feeling worse about themselves. This process can lead to even worse habits
By making these foods their market is getting smaller because it is destroying the consumers, literally. Nowadays, someone has some sort of illness like cardiovascular disease or diabetes. Consumers are surrounded by advertisements, especially young children. Young children watch television a lot. Young children are the ones who are most on social media and they see so many advertisements it is unbelievable.
We need to make these sugary drinks not so easy to buy. Everyday the soda companies come out with some new drink to suck us in to buying them and getting us hooked. Pepsi and coke are famous for this, but we still feel the need to try the drinks that come out. Even though most of us know that these drinks we consume are bad for us. In conclusion I believe having a tax that increases the prices on sugary drinks is a good place to start for the obesity epidemic.
Childhood Obesity Jamie Blake ENG 122 Jennifer Williams October 15 2012 Child obesity is a huge problem in the United States and a lot more citizens need to be aware and educated on the steps that can be taken to assist children struggling with obesity. How does Childhood Obesity happen, how many does it affect, what can be done to prevent this problem and what are the long terms affects. There are facts that show and lead others to believe that childhood obesity is the fault of the parents because children are watching too much Television, playing too many video games, they are not getting enough exercise, and most importantly they have an unhealthy diet. Well what is childhood obesity; it is defined as a serious medical condition
If exposed to violent TV for an extended amount of time, it may be able to desensitize anyone, especially if they come from an already broken home or bad neighborhood. To say that because of this desensitizing, everybody is to be more violent would not be accurate. Many who have broken the law or committed crimes against man don’t even have access to TV. People in bad neighborhoods or broken homes or schools are more prone to violence because of what they see around them,
The physical effects are obvious. Sufferers have an irrational fear of putting on weight and are obsessed with being thin 1b. Eating disorder 1: Binge eating disorder sufferers often feel out of control and cannot stop eating, even when they are full. As with other eating disorder sufferers, they negatively evaluate their body shape and weight.
Spanking is however still widely used as a means to punish kids across the world. Some have opposed it as a great idea to punish kids owing to it being able to affect their emotions as well as psychology. After being beaten so much the child will only behave when subjected to pain. This only result in more pain as a way to deal with those kids found to have hardened leading to abuse. Most of those found to result to spanking may be frustrated, and only trying to express their emotions.
