Some children are not going to eat tuna if they think it is gross. They are going to want to eat junk food because it is good. Children are at such a young age they don’t think about what is in the food they are eating. Even teenagers don’t think about what they eat and what is in it and what it is can do to their body. If it came down to people getting really deep into what they are eating and what it’s doing to their body they would be eating hardly anything. In conclusion, tuna consumption does have potential health consequences. However, people should take into consideration that those possible effects, such as the problems the author’s daughter encountered, are very rare. If consumers stopped buying and eating everything that was affiliated with a bad personal experience of someone somewhere in the world, then they would have nothing to consume. Entire parts of the economy would not exist and there would be much bigger problems than just some mercury hurting a very small portion of the population. Work Cited Steingraber, Sandra.
