One thing in life that is very rare to come by is finding a true friend. Some people may have different ideas on what a true friend really is. A true friend is someone that is always there for you no matter what. Someone who you can get in fights with and instead of growing apart you grow stronger from it. It is a person who cares just as much about you as they do their own family. Someone that you call a true friend isn’t just a friend, they are part of your family. I have been lucky enough to have a person like this in my life for five years now. He’s not just my friend, he’s my brother. My true friend and his whole family treats me as if I was a part of their family and mine does the same with him. I have been told by his family that I am honestly welcome in their home at any time. They give me a place to stay whenever I need it, they feed me, and take care of me just like a real family. So I guess you could say I’m extremely lucky considering I have two loving families who care about me instead of just one. My best friend and I live by a quote that fits us perfectly. The quote is: “Blood makes you related, however loyalty makes you family.” That is one of the many reasons why he is a true friend. The ability to treat a person as family and care for them regardless of the differences you may have with them is one of the main qualities it takes to be a true friend in my mind. To sum up everything, there are a multitude of different qualities to look for in a true friend. It is very difficult to come by such a generous and selfless person as I have found. Everyone at one point in their life will have someone like I have; the only difference is that when a true friend comes into your life you can’t just treat them like they are worthless.
