Thalanous Terry 10/15/12 Tropical Park When I first arrived at the event at Tropical Park I thought it was going to be as simple as cleaning up the football field and cleaning out sheds, but when they said the groups were to clean out horse sheds, shovel manure, or clean areas around parks, I was shocked. The section I worked at was the group that cleaned out the horse sheds and leveled them off with dirt. When we got to thee sheds we were giving gloves and shovels and piles of dirt that was going to be leveled off to a certain point, so when horses were put back into the sheds it would not be uneven. We split up into teams of four, which made the job a whole lot quicker to move on to another shed. While two people shoveled the dirt into the shed one person would evenly distribute the dirt or visa versa. The group I was in did a total of three sheds and it was hard work, but it was worth it. At the end of finishing the sheds we all gathered and discussed the events that took place on 9/11. We all went around and talked about what we were doing at that point in time where we were and how we felt. Majority of us were in elementary school, so we could not get the full grasp of what was going on, but just to hear others stories, and how many people were actually in New York when the event took place was very surprising to me. But at the end of the day I felt proud to help and give back and to be able to listen to others and how they felt about the events on
