An occupational therapy hand injury class of mixed ages & abilities all of whom are referred from the follow-up clinic in A&E. All of them have different injuries (fractured&/or dislocated thumbs/fingers, &fractured wrist are the most common), but all have pain, weak grip and limited movement. Trip to forest reserve’ Considering the current climate, it is especially important to plan carefully for all the contingencies. Taking a large group of children or teenagers out to a public place is a somewhat complex task, and a large deal of planning needs to be done to make it successful. Having planned many field trips myself, I am glad to share some of the things I have learned from these experiences. Plan your field trip correctly, and it can truly be a memorable and meaningful experience for everyone involved! When planning my activity I have to make sure that I meet all of the following points: METHODS OF COMMUNICATION: It is very important to make sure that you communicate with all,and make sure that they understood (interpreter would be needed). Prepare Permission Form – for children under 18!  Give instructions at two times to make sure they are heard. Check for understanding by getting one of the students to repeat it. Treat this like the learning experience it is.  Bring along some puzzle books and magazines to give out to students if you're going to be driving for more than half an hour. PROMOTING SAFETY: It’s necessary to do a risk assessment before the trip. Its also very important to promote Dignity – Treat everyone with respect,and promote their rights. ENCOURAGE NEW EXPERIENCES: Make sure that the activity would be fun and enjoyable for everyone. SUPPORT INCLUSION: Include ALL of users to join the activity.
