I am qualified state nurse (SRN), currently working in a private hospital in Seremban since 3 years till date. I work in a general medical surgical ward, also we have nurses that works in surgery and paediatric wards. During my experience, I have acquired type of knowledge and skills that I believe sharing with learner will improve people knowledge and give more insight to detail of objective in the learning process that has been given. During these learning process between mentor and learner . I decided to choose one of my junior staff nurse as my learner.
I learned a lot about this career in a short 30 minutes, and have found this assignment to be very helpful in choosing to go into the career. My mentor was born in Alamogordo, New Mexico and graduated from Alamogordo High School. He attended Lubbock Christian University for four years and after graduating, enrolled in the University of New Mexico medical program. At LCU, my mentor took a course to become an Emergency Medical Technician but later wanted to study general surgery. After working as a general surgeon in Phoenix, Arizona for six years, he specialized in orthopedics in Cleveland, Ohio and now works at a sports medicine practice in Alamogordo.

Journal #5 Clinical today was a catch up day, I did attend a Quality and Patient Safety Committee (QPSC) Meeting and a Quality and Accreditation Department (QAD) Meeting. During the QPSC meeting a member updated us on a complaint made to The Joint Commission (TJC). It was interesting to hear how the complaint was handled and the fact that the people involved in the complaint actually traveled to the patients’ home and met with the family. I had never heard of a complaint being handled that way and was quite impressed. The rest of the QPSC meeting was discussion of updates as was the QAD meeting.

After determining that this family had internet access, I also gave his daughter Jane Smith the website information in case she would like to look into it. I printed off information that I felt they did not retain very well and showed them how to use the tools

So soon after my graduation, the hospital gave me the choice to decide where I would like to work and I decided to go for neurosurgery. I worked in the Neuro- surgical trauma ICU of a super specialty hospital in Bangalore, India, for almost 4 years. My first 4 years over there made me a very strong. I have seen many lives fade away. I realized how short life is and how thankful we have to be each day of our lives being healthy.
