Mr. and Mrs. Weed remain in good standings within the law because of the plaintiff and their thoughts of being in legal standing of the regulations. My argument when considering the retirement of the business is that if the Weed’s decide to end their service, they are giving opportunity to other locals to take in their ideas and create the same business with a different title. In fact, since Big John was always so honest and genuine with his work ethic, he always made sure he was under regulations. Someone else could cut the corners just to make a profit from a recycled business. I am in full agreement that Mr. and Mrs. Weed continue their business, in fact, I think they should expand the public’s awareness about the type of treatment they deliver, by doing so they can deliver pamphlets throughout their town, especially to those they have already treated.
It is quite obvious that Robinson was not guilty, but he is still convicted anyway. Many racist actions lead up to the trial, actually encompass the trial, and these same actions are seen after the trial. She is racist enough to think that because Atticus is defending an African American, someone that he thinks is not guilty; it will harm her deep southern roots. This skirmish
One of the most important things to analyze is the speech objective. As a notable civil rights leader, King’s main objective was to motivate his followers, mainly civil rights activists. His objective was to motivate them to continue their strenuous civil rights work and motivate them to overcome the seemingly unchangeable conditions that they were dealing with. The primary message being delivered was that Blacks in America were not being treated fairly and that they were going to continue to push for justice until it was achieved. He gives examples, such as the fact that most Blacks in the Deep South were still not able to vote and that racial violence was still occurring throughout the Nation.
Many still face injustices of racism even in today’s world, where major inhumane actions such as slavery are largely a thing of the past. I interpret Margaret Walker’s quote in a variety of ways. First, I think she goes out of her way to point out the struggles of many African Americans in an elegant and unique way. The dehumanizing of slavery and segregation is something that I believe has happened many times. It’s easy to study these subjects time and time again and become numb to the fact that real people had to suffer through such conditions.
At the time the don’t ask don’t tell policy was in effect, but soldiers were still being discharged. In conclusion, I am glad that the policy got repealed and I give a lot of credit to President Obama for keeping his word during his campaign to end the don’t ask don’t tell policy. There are still credits who oppose lifting the ban, but it was the right thing to do. As long as your sexuality do not interfere with your work, I do not see why you would be banned from doing your job. Finally I want to say, God bless our men and women who proudly serve our country with such dignity and professionalism.
Racism very much exists and it is about time that people need to start thinking about the solutions to this matter. Racism has been something that goes way back, and has caused laws to be made. Unfortunately, racism still continues today, even with the laws that were made. But the laws have made an impact, because today we do have a black president, and that’s a big step in getting rid of racism. Obviously, we still have differences between a group of people such as our culture, skin color and custom.
A Simple Choice Gives Weight “Thank You Ma’am” by Langston Hughes is a very touching story. Care is given to, Roger, the main character to help him make the right decision. After I read it, I had many feelings. Roger stands in a street of choices. A good intention will not get him far.
Great Expectations Literary Analysis Love, it is a simple word with a thousand meanings. The redemptive power of selfless love and friendship arises throughout all great novels. It is a theme that proves that if someone is selfless and loving that they can make up for many bad deeds someone might have done to a person. Some say that some things are just unforgivable but in reality nothing should ever be undoable. In the novel Great Expectations, by Charles Dickens, the theme of the redemptive power of selfless love is conveyed continuously throughout the book through several characters.
He was very cautious of the way she thought of him after their arranged tea reunion at Tom’s residence. Likewise, Tom was always minding his business in Gatsby’s love life. It was quite interesting to see his perspective in this relationship. Yet, in today’s society, people will perceive it “one sided.” In fact, people may even have the slightest questionable feeling of the way Tom sees Gatsby and his feelings for Gatsby. The way I understood the book, will be different for everyone else, but after finishing the book, it is my understanding that love and perspective is a value they highly cared about.
The poem the Chimney Sweeper is pointing out the injustices of childhood labor at this point in time, which was around the late 1700's. According to the footnote in the book legislative tried to pass a protective law for the children, but it was never enforced. Since the legislative was attempted to be passed though it must have been a known issue in London at the time while Blake was writing this poem. The interesting thing about the poem is that Tom sees the world through such an innocent light. Even when bad things happen to him, such as getting his head shaved, he looks at it through a positive and innocent light by saying at least my white hair will not be ruined by the soot.
