1. Introduction The use of electronic document submission and distribution is a key factor in improving the efficiency of TR30 and it's subcommittees operation. The guidelines below, which have been adopted by TR-30, will insure that all meeting attendees have advance capability to review papers presented for meetings. The basic principals are that documents are posted on the TIA-TR30 FTP sites and access to the FTP sites is available to all. In this document, reference to TIA TR-30 meetings includes all subcommittees (TR-30.1, TR-30.2, TR-30.3 and TR-30.5) as well. 2. If the file size is less than 200 Kbytes, then Word *.doc or *.rtf formats should be utilized. .doc is preferred. If the paper is larger than 200 Kbytes, then the file should be uploaded in *.zip format. The file name(s) inside of a ZIP archive shall conform to the naming convention. Word 2000 is the preferred version of word processing application to use. 2.5 File name for upload The file name for the upload should be ayymmNNNRn.zzz where a represents the sub-committee number or 0 for TR-30, yy is the two digit year (“01” for 2001), mm is the two digit month, NNN is the three digit document number assigned by the Chair, R indicates a revision and n is the single digit revision number. Finally, zzz is the three-letter extension in lower case. For example 10101037R2.doc, would be the January 2001 meeting contribution number 37, second revision. Note that ad hoc working groups sometimes utilize a different numbering scheme, where this is done the Chair of the ad hoc group will announce this difference. 2.6 Upload location Contributions should be uploaded to the appropriate FTP site for the committee as indicated in section 3.1 of this document.
