It was a network of over 5000 miles of caravan routes through deserts and across seas from China all the way to Rome. Not only did the Silk Road carry precious goods, it carried much influence between civilizations. One of the influences that emerged from the Silk Road was Buddhism. Buddhism originated in India and spread throughout the country via the Silk Road.

From contact with the Persians and Greeks, new political techniques, ideas, art styles, and the use of money entered the Indian repertoire. Shortly after the arrival of the Greeks, much of north India was politically unified by the Mauryan Empire under Chandragupta. His grandson Ashoka was the empire’s greatest ruler. Ashoka converted to Buddhism and promoted its spread inside and outside of India.
It’s been a bill a few times, but has never made approval to be voted on by the people. The most recent vote was this year on February 23rd, when the expanded gambling bill was defeated 21-16. Polls have shown that over 80% of Kentuckians are in favor of being able to vote on this themselves. In fact, many of the religions brought to America have been by immigrants and their role of fostering ethnic communities. For instance, one of most common and growing religion in America has been Buddhism, “an ethnic faith sustained by Chinese and Japanese immigrants” (Smith, 2006). It all started in 1893 when an event in the acceptance of Buddhism in America was held in Chicago bringing together representatives from Christian denominators and Asian religions, being one of the first national public presentations of Buddhism. I believe many people think that there is an air marshal on every flight that leaves a US airport. This is not the case at all. In a report titled Air marshals missing from almost all flights by; Kathleen Johnston and Todd Schwarzschild from CNN. They state that less than 1% of the 28,000 daily flights that take to the friendly skies in America have an air marshal aboard. Greg Alter, assistant special agent in charge of the air marshal program says that the 280 number grossly understates coverage by an order of magnitude and the number is 4 digits but wouldn’t elaborate.
