Topic: Broadcasting Journalism Thesis: Journalists serve as important, integral parts of our everyday lives by supplying the general public with updates and insights on current events as well as world issues. In seventh grade, my English class had taken a job test on the Internet that would match our personalities. At the end of my test, I wound up with a career choice, Journalism. I didn’t believe that the Internet could produce an accurate choice until I looked deeper into it. I realized that journalism expanded into many different categories. As I narrowed down my searches, I came across broadcast journalism. This led me to my interest of learning more about Diane Sawyer, as well as taking it upon myself to broaden my horizons. Winter break of 2011, I went behind the scenes of NBC studios. There I learned how to read and operate a teleprompter, how to control the cameras, the magic behind the green screen, and I also learned how to be an anchor, as well as being an anchor with the host of NBC. Ever since then, I have come to the realization that my dream goal is to become a broadcast journalist. Focus Questions: 1. What is broadcasting journalism? 2.
