1. A newspaper article. -Columns -The Observer, May 11 2002 -Cherrie Booth, the writer. 2. The story appears in a newspaper. The internet says it’s a mix between a broadsheet and a tabloid. We think it’s a broadsheet, because it’s a really serious topic. 3. The theme is bullying. 4. The Speaker has been interested in the subject “bullying” for many years. She got a family, she is a lawyer, and maybe she will be the former school governor. She is also mentioning that she will visit the Child-Line Ground-breaking Conference. And her main topic will be to speak about the Symptoms, Strategies and solutions for bullying. 5. The person is speaking to everyone who reads this. Bullying happens in any ages, but the main target group is the young generation. It is the young generation who is the main target, because there is the most bullying. It’s more common that it happens to young people, because kids can be very cruel to each other. 6. Composition: The headline makes us feel like a troop or an army against the bullying. Makes us feel like a big community against the bad guys. But if we won’t communicate well and won’t help each other’s we can’t “win” It’s a very good eye catcher which makes us want to read more. Again the lead pushes us in the direction of taking action and fight against bullying. The main text is divided very well into chapters. The writer starts out by telling about this letter he received only a week ago. This tells us that it’s still a problem in the youth community and how big the consequences can be. Then in the next chapter section he show us that it is not the only case and that it is a common problem. He also tells us about how the victims can be affected like low confidence or the fear of going to school. He also starts telling us a bit of the Child-Line which helps the young victims and how the
