During Anti-bullying week the school will have special assemblies to demonstrate the types of bullying and how children can report this behaviour. As a Teaching Assistant I should be seen to be approachable to speak to about any concerns that the children may have, that these discussions are confidential and that they will receive support, guidance and protection from all parties involved in bullying and violence. Bullying comes in different forms such as: • Verbal – this is when someone is called names, threatened and made to feel bad • Physical – this is when someone is hit, punched, pushed or have their personal items stolen and any other kind of physical, aggressive contact. • Social - Social bullying is when someone is left out of games, deliberately ignored and has bad things spread about them and made to feel like an outsider. • Psychological / Mental – this is when someone is intimidated and stalked • Cyber – In this technological age Cyber Bullying has become a problem.

Giselle A. Suazo Assignment: Group Proposal Psychoeducational Group Rationale: My group will be a counseling group for women who are victims of domestic violence and are still affected by the trauma it has caused in their life and the lives of their children. The group will be composed of 8 members, I will prefer females with young children’s no older than 5 years old and who are a recent victim or were a victim of domestic violence. Domestic violence is not new in today’s society. We see this happen since our early childhood years and even before that. Everyday more and more females become victims of domestic violence and lots of them feel like they have no way out.
Parents or carers can struggle to cope if their child is a victim of bullying. Some parents or carers have to deal with the fact that their child is the bully. This can be upsetting for them too. Discussing what has happened with them can help deal with what will happen next. It can provide a plan on how to deal with the child’s behaviour.
Bullying victims can have a lot of stress added on and it can lead to retaliation such as school shootings as well as suicide. Cyber bullying is the more modern type of bullying and some argue that it's the most harmful. When it comes to cyber bullying anyone can become the bully. The small scrawny kid can be just as harmful as the big kid on the playground. Cyber bullying can have a longer lasting effect on the victim.
Behavioral theory states that people act aggressively because, as children, they modeled their behavior after the violent acts of adults. When they get older, they become antisocial. As a child when they were awarded for doing things, they thought it was good and it became habitual and the behavior that is punished becomes extinguished. A sub branch of behavioral theory is social learning theory. They act violently when people pick on them, threaten them, or they are exposed to direct pain.
Another example would be in the pre-school age, when they have ran into someone by accident and hit them, they know they didn’t mean to do it but to still say sorry for hurting a friend. There is another part of learning and that is social learning this is linked with emotional development, being able to control their emotions and being able to to build socially on this. Being able to have empathy for other and seeing if a friend is sad or happy and being able to adjust their behaviour to suit the situation. A child needs to be able to ‘read’ the faces of others to understand what communication is needed for the time. This is when they can communicate with their friend and adults around them to help a person in need or to join in with games for example.
My classmates and I were interested in learning more about it and making it into a day at our school. We began to search and find out more information about the organization and how to go about bringing it to our high school for the day. We knew that there needed to be a committee and officers in order to help this day succeed. After talking about it for days and figuring out how we would go about this process, two other girls and I decided to take it upon ourselves and make this day happen. We set up phone calls with the organization as well as other organizations such as Special Olympics and Keshet.
