The Federal Bureau of Investigations also known as the FBI. Founded by Attorney General Charles Joseph Bonaparte in 1908 in response to then President Theodore Roosevelt’s need to deal with “land thieves”(1) They gathered a group of investigators within the Department of Justice, during World War I. The FBI is constantly evolving and adapting to meet changing times, dynamics of crime, espionage and political terrorism. Currently the FBI is a branch of the U.S. Department of Justice and is responsible to the Attorney General and is also responsible for reporting its findings to federal U.S. attorneys across the country. It provides other states and local law enforcement agencies with cooperative services, fingerprint identification, laboratory examinations, and police training. The mission(4) of the FBI is to coordinate intelligence efforts that drive actions to protect the United States. Their goal is to develop a comprehensive understanding of the threats and penetrate national and international and transnational networks that have a desire and capability to harm us. Each agent must have knowledge, skills and the courage to be able to investigate dangerous criminals, terrorists and spies. Some get sent home if not meeting the fortitude that the FBI Academy requires. Anew agent must undergo an intensive training that lasts 850 hours of instruction in four major focuses: academics, case exercises, firearm training and operational skills and physical training.
