The idea of a predictable and unpredictable life events involves generalisation. For some people issues like divorce or redundancy may be predictable, but other people may not have expected to be divorced or lose their job. Predictable life changes One event that is often predicted is when our children start school/nursery. There will be positive learning from this experience as the child will then learn to socialise with other children and make new friendships with them. The child will learn to share toys and develop a better vocabulary by listening to others talking.
When the so-called “negative parts” of the books remain, kids gain knowledge of what is and what is not good to do, say, or act. Even though it may seem bad for them, in the long run it’s actually helping them. Books should not be banned from society because they are a way of imagination for children, and a way of life to adults. Opponents say some books should be banned from society, just because they have suggestive content. Religious issues shape ethical and moral viewpoints.
By doing this you are giving the children the chance to gain confidence in resolving conflicts, an adult may not always be present when they are confronted with conflict. Conflict could occur outside the school or the home and by allowing children to resolve conflicts with each other whilst under supervision it equips them with the skills to do so in other situations. As a staff member we can inform children of how a conflict should be resolved and stress that it can always be done without the need for verbal or physical violence. This shows the children that verbal abuse or physical violence is not an acceptable way to resolve conflict nor an acceptable way to act in any instance. Therefore equipping them with the skills they need to manage on the outside world, skills that they will hopefully take on to later
The teachers also should have stepped in when they saw the fight happening and not just stood there. It teaches us students that we should stand up for kids, and teachers are not always the good person in the situation and there could be favoring. In conclusion, I think that The Chocolate War was a very good book that taught very interesting lessons. It always makes me think twice but saying, “no” to something that I should do. I think the lesson here is to just plain out respect everyone and you will not have any problems.
As a practitioner I encourage children to explore, observe, solve problems, predict, discuss and consider. I feel that ICT resources can provide tools for using these skills as well as examined in their own right. ICT and everyday technology is often not being recognised enough as people think "computers" for technology. The Early years Sector, as well as parents of young children has long debated the relevance of ICT, with views ranging from those who believe it could result in socio-economic benefits (DFES, 2001) to Sigman’s opinion that ICT is completely inappropriate in early year’s settings, being detrimental to both children’s health and standards of education (O’Hara, 2004
Education is a very important resource to anyone who wants to succeed in life. Unfortunately, there are some students who do not take education seriously. They go to the school just to make friends, to not be at home to help with the chores or just because their parents are obligating them to complete this phase of their life otherwise, they rather to be doing something else. But, they don’t see that with an education their life can change for the better. However, as there are such students, there are also those students who want to overcome and be someone important, especially if they are in a foreign country.
They will have it easier in learning the new combinations of sounds at a young age that will make their speech skills come easier throughout therapy. I don’t agree with Harlan Lane’s article. The way he tells people they are wrong for getting a cochlear implant isn’t his place to say anything. I believe its freedom of choice to have this done or to have your children get this done. I also don’t agree with him saying cochlear implants wont work well for young children and there better off for “healthy adults.” I believe that is would probably be easier for children to learn how to use this cochlear implant as a tool because at those young ages they soak up all information they can receive, rather then adults who are sometimes stuck in their ways.
We have age limits and restriction on many things, but why does are education system expect these young kids to make the right choices, ask for help and develop good study habits on their own. Our education system needs a new approach to resolve these issues. Teachers and parents need to be held responsible, for how well these kids do in school. We need come up with a new plan so these students aren’t left lost and helpless. Flunking students can be used as a positive tool by our education system.
While there are several “rags to riches” stories that serve to encourage the members of the lower class to work hard and achieve their dreams, much truth lies in the fact that the government does not provide enough opportunities for them to do so. I would recommend revising the school choice provision of the No Child Left Behind Act in order to enable the mobility of students to schools located outside of their district. By doing so, many of the children within the working class would have the option to attend a school where they could receive the same opportunities as those of their high-born
Through my research it seemed as if the struggles presented were unexpressed to the ‘other side’ (parents or children), which then causes familial conflict. However, if parents and children actually knew and were explained about the types of trouble each other was facing, they would be better informed and would also be able to make educated decisions as to how one should act accordingly. What’s more, the family dynamic would then become a learning experience for both parents and children, instead of an intrapersonal struggle kept to oneself.
