This has occurred as a result of rapid advances in transport and telecommunications technology, such that it is now possible to buy and sell stock, place orders for delivery/production of good and discuss business strategy at the click of a button. World cities are cities such as New York, London, Paris and Tokyo, and they fall into global hierarchy of dominance and dependence more of which will be discussed in character. Mega cities in the developing world contract a great deal to this. Whereas world cities play important roles globally, megacities in the DW tend to have their influence limited to the nation in which they exist. This is a result of the fact that more than 40% of the less developed nations population live in megacities; making them large hubs for population, employment and free riding off services such as sanitation and water not provided in rural areas (and only marginally supplied in megacities incidentally).
During the pick days the restaurant is unable to accommodate all the customers do to the limited sitting capacity. * Food is the major source of revenue, 70% of all sells, 25% wine and liquor, 5% dessert and coffees. * Average customer spends around 40 dollars and this number is down from 50 dollars in last two years due to economy slow down. * 30% of customers are returning on regular basis, the 70% are tourist and business travelers from hotel across the street. * Most of the customers come from middle class, with no specific age group, or race, they value good, freshly made food as main reason for coming back, as well as fair price and good service.
College students can waste almost all of their money on food if not spent wisely. For instance, taking a trip to the store and buying groceries will get students much more for their money than spending it on fast food all the time. Buying bread and deli meat is a good money saving decision because those sandwiches will last them longer than a fast food meal for a night. Students who are smart with their money and who make the right decisions on what and where to eat will save themselves large amounts of money. Also, buying healthier snacks may not taste as sweet as donuts or cakes but they do cost less.
Unlike Mcdonalds, Chick-fil-a serves the crowd a free dinner,10 coupons for free meals. This shows a lot of genorousity and a great appeal to fast food fans. For the past two years , the Atlanta-based chain was named “best drive-through in America” by the quick-service resturaurant trade. (QSR MAG) The employees at Chick-fil-a strive to complete orders within 90 seconds in the drive through window and 60 seconds at the counter. Some might find it appealing how Chick-fil-a shares corporate values such as all locations being closed on Sunday,as a day of rest and worship.
‘Urban areas have a significant impact on climatic characteristics’ Discuss the statement [40] An urban area is a region surround a city; they include the surrounding areas as well as the city itself. High population density and vast human features in comparison to the surrounding areas are characteristics of urban areas. Other characteristics include transport links and high rise buildings for dwelling and working. Due to the vast number of urban areas, the activities of these areas will obviously have some effect on the climatic characteristics, but I will attempt to answer how significant the effects are and if there are any other contributing factors. Urban heat island climates usually occur in more built up urban areas.
Q. ‘The decentralisation of retailing and other services has had a major impact on urban areas.’ To what extent do you agree with this statement? City centres and central business districts are usually recognised as being places where businesses, major shopping areas, tourist attractions and major corporate companies are based. They reside in the city centre as it is the place where bodies of people will swarm to, making it successful in earning and boosting the economy. However, when decentralisation occurs, urban centres suffer many negative impacts.
It is not those who like to cheat and take the easy way out of things. People are buying cookies, candy, chips, and soda. They also throw big parties for the 4th of July with steaks and shrimp and fill their cart to the brim. Why is the government allowing such absurdity! A couple from Long Island was caught buying more than $120 in caviar with food stamps at a supermarket and then reselling it at a profit!
"Hundreds of millions of people buy fast food every day without giving it much thought, unaware of the subtle and not so subtle ramifications of their purchase" (Pg. 10). The widespread phenomenon of fast food consumption has transformed even the simplest aspects of everyday life. An era when eating out was rare and saved for special occasions is coming to an end, and is quickly being replaced with a sky-rocketing demand for fast food. Over time, the fast food industry has increasingly manipulated consumers and corrupted the stability of the nation, and although the convenience and affordability of fast food has made it widely popular, the disadvantages noticeably exceed the benefits.

More commonly, obesity refers to any individual with a BMI of more than 30. We live in a fast pace society, where people is always in a rush to get to point A to point B so they are not late to point C. And in between point A and B we decide to open the glass door, feel the cool air, walk in, get in line, take a look at the menu with beautiful pictures of the delicious meet they have, tell them what you want, hand just a few dollars and watch the high school kid press some buttons, and moments later your food comes out and you get to hold that colorful tray with your food all wrapped pretty. The whole experience of buying fast food has become an everyday routine. Eating something like McDonald’s or Wendy’s makes society think that it’s ok because its FAST food, you don’t waste time of your life by cooking a healthy meal.
