To Find God desirable To know what it means to find God desirable, we must first ask ourselves, “What does desirable mean?” We could take scripture reference to find out what it means, but let’s see what Webster had in mind when he thought of something as “desirable”. According to Merriam Webster found on Google, Desirable means all of this… 1.) having pleasing qualities or properties : ATTRACTIVE 2.) : worth seeking or doing as advantageous, beneficial, or wise: ADVISABLE So it means that we see that God has pleasing qualities about him that we need to have in our life. Or in other words, we see the need to desire him. On definition 2 you will find that it says “Worth seeking”. Now I don’t know about you, but that seems like more of a question than a statement. Such as God is sitting there saying, “Am I worth seeking?” So we have to sit back and ask ourselves, is God really worth seeking? If the answer is yes, then the second question I have for you is “What are you doing to seek after him?” For some of us, it’s a life style. And for others, it’s a style of life, or a fad. God desires for us to seek after him. So as you continue to read this, ask yourself, “Is God really something worth seeking in my life?” A lot of times I have to look into words by their root to get a fuller and better meaning, so let’s do that, let’s take the root word of desirable and look it up… and that is desire. Looking from the same source of information, desire is said like this, 1.) conscious impulse toward something that promises enjoyment or satisfaction in its attainment 2.) a : LONGING, CRAVING b : sexual urge or appetite 3.) a usually formal request or petition for some action 4.) something desired So taking the first definition and applying it to God.
