This input from the boy helps build the father and son's relationship that the whole novel is based on. Another aspect of the father and son relationship is their love they have for one another. Many of the fathers actions help exemplify the love he has for his son. Throughout the novel there a countless number of times when the father puts his son before himself. For example, the father gives his son the last of the food and water.

This weeks class we received an intensive over view of the K-9 unit. Both dogs who were introduced to the class had similar personalities and were Belgian Malinois. The dog handlers spoke to the dogs in dutch which was a decent feature because most Americans can not speak dutch, therefore they will not be able to control the dog if being attacked. Each dog listened very well and had a strong bond with each handler. The dogs bite was extremely vicious and if not in a suit one would have been severely injured.
Another aspect of Romanticism that Tom Sawyer displays is his reason and logic being replaced by unrealistic and fanciful thinking: "Every animal [including rattlesnakes] is grateful for kindness and petting, and they wouldn’t THINK of hurting a person that pets them. Any book will tell you that " (140). Making the connection to Romantic ideals, Mark Twain characterizes Tom Sawyer as not discerning logically, but rather having delusions of grandeur. Through the character of Tom Sawyer, Mark Twain is able to hyperbolize the aspects of Romantic literature that he discerns to be flawed as well as create a foil for the main character, Huckleberry Finn. During the times Tom Sawyer is not present in Huck's life, Huck is able to devise plans in most circumstances even if his plans do stay relatively simple.
There are many ways in which Haddon tells the story in chapter 97 and he uses a variety of methods to show this. He takes an interest in a dog which is a dachshund. The dachshund is the dog of Mrs Alexander. He uses the basic phrase “I like dogs” because he does not know how to express his emotions more naturally or correctly due to his autism. Up to this chapter Christopher’s story had began to fade out and It had hit a dead end.

QUOTATIONS FOR MY ESSAY “They were sending me off to fight a war they didn't understand, and didn't want to understand” Pg. 45 “He enjoyed not being dead. Lying there, kiowa admired lieutenant Jimmy Cross's capacity for grief. He wanted to share the man's pain, he wanted to care as Jimmy Cross cared. And yet when he closed his eyes, all he could think was Boom-down, and all he could feel was the pleasure of having his boots off and the fog curling in around him and the damp soil and the Bible smells and the plush comfort of night” Pg 18.
His continuous irony throughout “A Modest Proposal” allows him to indirectly present his proposition, which is mostly confusing until the reader becomes educated with his style of writing. By choosing to use irony so often in his essay, Swift is able to illustrate to his audience just how extreme Ireland’s poverty conditions have gotten. With his use of sarcasm, Swift creates the impression that he is truly sincere and sympathetic towards the poor families who are constantly begging, but behind his satirical intentions he is actually meaning the opposite. Frequently in his essay, he portrayed irony when describing his “modest” proposal, that the carcass of one year olds would be profitable. Swift emphasizes his proposal’s advantage of preventing abortions, then clearly conveys irony when he contradicts this benefit three paragraphs later by reassuring his audience that he has been informed a “well-nursed” child “…is at a year old a most delicious, nourishing, and wholesome food, whether stewed, roasted, baked, or boiled…”(Swift 1026).
Nicholas Ellisor 1st Period A.P English 5/24/12 Marley & Me Brief synopsis Marley and Me chronicles the life of an owner and dog they named Marley. He was a very troubling and mischievous dog that destroyed everything in his path. This book depicts the life long friendship and hardship between human and man’s best friend. Assertion The argument presented in Marley and Me through my perspective (because it wasn’t really an argument so to speak) was that family is the most important aspect of life on this planet. He demonstrates this through the sometimes hard felt and charming stories about Marley.
