With the advancement and development of technology, science has been able to make the unimaginable into reality. One such phenomenon is human cloning. The benefits of research into human cloning are clear, however, the research should be transparent and closely monitored. There are endless possibilities in the fields of genetics and cloning. While the abuse of these technologies can have grave consequences, such as the possibility that clones will be treated as disposable property, banning it would hinder future advancements in medical science. The objections to cloning by religious and ethical arguments that regard man “playing god” and the loss of individuality are outweighed by the potential scientific and medical benefits.


There are numerous ways that cloning can further aid in scientific development and help in the advancement of scientific knowledge. Human cloning could allow the possibility to “cure diseases such as those that are related to genetics, and can lead to new discovers (with data, technology and ideas)”. “Research into cloning can prevent and preserve endangered species from disappearing”, as well as improve the health of human beings and animals (Simon Smith). It will allow doctors to “research deeper into diseases such as rapid cell growths of cancer cells and could provide much needed medical donor material such as creating and producing new organs” that genetically match the recipient and will not be rejected by the body (Joseph Farnsworth). It would aide in the regeneration of nerve tissues and other damaged tissues, and improve further studies in genetics, anatomical development, and medicine. Human cloning and advances in genetic manipulation will lead to a greater understanding of the human experience. This will in turn lead to advances in medicine and a growing quality of life throughout the world.
