To Be Great Is To Be Misunderstood

To be great is what most people desire to become. Many people become great, but most of those people considered great until much later in there life time, if in there lifetime. This is because they are not understood properly by others but are rather misunderstood by them. That is why Emerson’s quote; “To be great is to be understood” is a very true statement. Many people have been misunderstood before they became great. For example, early in life Albert Einstein was misunderstood. He had Asperges making him think differently and causing the other students to think he was weird. He also dropped out of high school, which was not considered to good of a choice for someone planning on becoming an inventor. However in spite of all that he ended up inventing the atomic bomb considered by many to be one of the greatest inventions of all time. Then there’s George Washington was unable to spell for much of his early life and had very poor grammar usage however he became the first president of the United States. Newton was little heard of by much of anyone and was thought to be mentally unstable at times and even insane. Newton then came up with his laws of gravity, which became the founding principles of mechanics. After stating that the Earth was not the center of the universe but instead was the sun, Galileo was threatened with excommunication if he did not take back the idea. Yet he was correct and had other great inventions and ideas. No matter what you do in life you will probably be misunderstood if you want to become great at it. Like lets say you want to become a great athlete and compete in the Olympics. To do that and become great you would have to practice all the time and a good group of people would probably think you’re a crazy person for practicing non-stop for something without the highest chance to succeed
