Select one (1) of the seven (7) tools of quality from Chapter 8 and create a scenario related to this project where it would be useful. In any project the project manager need to be fully prepared for stakeholder’s questions on the cost and duration of the project at the next monthly meeting. You decide to fully prepare yourself by developing a complete quantitative risk analysis of the project using the 7 quality management tool. I will use the tool cause and effect. In order to do the cause-and affect diagram properly, the team needs to select the problem, brainstorm it in order to get all the potential. Causes from the group members, rank the reasons and place them on the diagram in ranked order, and then explore any branch of the diagram more deeply if someone feels one branch is more important than the others. The fishbone diagram, also referred to as an Ishikawa or cause and effect diagram, is a method of diagramming that allows the project leader to facilitate a project team session to efficiently determine causes of a particular problem affecting the project. Once root causes are identified, appropriate actions toward resolution are more easily identified (Haner, 2011). This tool helps to focus on the cause of the problem versus the solution and organizes ideas for further analysis. The diagram serves as a map depicting possible cause and effect relationships.
