Time Girl I often find myself daydreaming about what mischief I would get into if I had any sort of super-human power. If I could assign only one to myself, it would certainly be the ability to manipulate time. If I possessed this sort of control, I would be able to go back in time to relive certain moments, participate in experiences that I had previously missed out on, and visit people who are no longer in my life. I would travel forward in time to evaluate and survey my future, and make the proper adjustments to ensure that everything went according to my plans. I would stop or slow down time in order to finish assignments, get more sleep, or put off a boring activity or daunting task. I would speed time up through monotonous duties and uninteresting obligations. I fantasize about this particular power because it would give me complete control over my life, and which is something that is very important to me. It would be obvious to those who witness the use of my time manipulation that I crave control, am extremely impatient, and that the lack of punctuality causes me surplus anxiety. My superhero name to compliment my power would be “Fille du Temps”. This means “Time Girl” in French. This title is obviously appropriate for my power, but I really chose it because it sounds like the name of a slick villainess in some mysteriously curious neo-noir or French new-wave film. People would probably make bizarre assumptions about my name, or find themselves puzzled about its meaning because of the language barrier. I would not find this problematic. In fact, this would please me because it would allow me to carry out my time-warping activities unbeknownst to meddlesome beings. If one understands the meaning behind my name, it should immediately direct them to the conclusion that I have powers in time-manipulation. The identification of “Fille du Temps” functions
