Thus I Refute Beelzy This little story is about a kid in a broken family, where each individual has its own sense of reality. The kid, Little Simon, seeks refuge from his family in a park near where he lives. Here he finds a friend, Beelzy. His dad, Big Simon, beats him and wants him to learn from experience. That turns out horribly at the end. The narrator is omniscient and is not a part of the story. Mr Carter, or Big Simon, is Little Simons father and a hardworking dentist. Little Simon is not scared of anything and, unlike his mother, he talks back at his father, which apparently results in a beating in most cases. I can imagine that he spends a lot of time reading books, especially books about angelic music and demonic magic. It says in the text that Little Simon draws lines in the sand to make Beelzy come. He
