Xavier Avila English Comp. Kenderes November 26, 2012 MOUSCHWITZ The Lion King is a Disney “Classic”, meaning some would consider it to be a progressive film, that many children have seen numerous times around the world. But what if this seemingly innocent film was in fact filling our child’s mind with ignorance, sexist thougts, and racial stereotypes? In this paper, I take a negotiated approach to the Disney film The Lion King, analyzing its treatment of race, gender, and hierarchy. This Disney movie revolves around african animals, so one might question how race could play a role in such a film.
My favorite part about them is how they sunbath in a pose as if they were worshiping something. The conditions of Madagascar that the lemur had to adapt to forced them to become terrestrial creatures showing more evidence that over time terrestrial primates had to get used to scoping for predators as well as picking food from trees. The Guenon is another example from this era and by far is my favorite lemuroid due to the wise man beard. This type of lemur is found in varies parts of Africa (PIN). They are fair in size with longer legs, quite

CHICKEN HIPS First and foremost, I would like to state that I am extremely glad to be able to write a research paper on a gem of an article “Chicken Hips” by Catherine Pigott. In this article the author, Ms. Pigott talks about the vast differences in the norms of different cultures in various places of the world. She clearly illustrates that what is accepted as the standard of beauty in one culture can be the polar opposite of that standard in another. This article highlights Ms. Pigott’s experience as a traveler in Gambia. She was a little taken back about the impression the locals had about her, as the referred to her as “Chicken-Hips”.
During her research, Gruen was also given a chance to meet and interact with several elephants in captivity at the Kansas City Zoo, and at a circus. Her personal experience with the creatures was extremely beneficial to the novel, as the outstanding descriptions of their behaviour and appearance made the novel very
Do you think we are caring for this animal as God would have us care for them? I think there are people who take great care in looking after Monkey’s, the people who work in the Zoo’s and the people who are trying to protect the Monkey’s in the forest. But there are always people who try and take advantage of these creatures for there own gain, and mostly that is for money. So probally on a hole I think that God would like us to take more care with the Monkeys. Bibliograhy
These parks focus on suitable for children as well. Who wants to go on a ride called, The Machete: Watch Your Head, or on a river cruise where you see victims of genocide, starving people, etc. I think I make my point. I see what Keim is trying to say, but the parks are oriented to children as well, and they are meant to be fun and enjoyable. Perhaps if they had an exhibit on real African art, that might please Keim a
Arkansas – State of Scenic Beauties Arkansas is one of the best states in the Southern United States. It has a lot of wonderful destinations to visit, for example, the Ozark Mountains or the completed parts of the Arkansas River Trail. The state is full of scenic beauties to see, too. Arkansas also has an interesting story about where the name “Arkansas” comes from. For many reasons like the ones in the text, “The Natural State” is an attractive place for visitors.
Theses courses can enrich the curriculum and everyone can learn from these programs. More mentors should be hired into the schools where perhaps the majority of students are Africans. It is easy to say what should be done when one is standing on the outside looking in. The youth will be effected regardless of the decision made. The impact of how these youth will learn is still to be determined.
Adventure land is a paradise for children and a treat for the adults. It is made up of various foreign lands that represent the jungles of Africa, Asia, and South America. A make-belief Caribbean town square has also been built into this area to give a tropical feel to the area. This area hosts rides such as the Pirates of the Caribbean, Swiss Family Robinson Tree house, and the Jungle Cruise. Frontier land has been built in reminiscent of the Wild West and the Rivers of America.
