Flick often sit and think about high school and how good of a player he was but the reader never tells you how good he was in school or how his grades were. Michael Jordan tried out for his high school basketball team and was cut because he was too short. From that point on, Michael Jordan set out to prove that he would be the best NBA player to ever play the game of basketball. Michael Jordan was born in 1963 in New York. His family moved to North Carolina when he as a toddler. Michael Jordan went on to attend college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was an all-star player.
Patrick Ewing and Charles Barkley were both popular and astounding NBA basketball players, but their careers took opposite directions after they retired from playing basketball. Both Patrick Ewing and Charles Barkley had humble upbringings and their basketball careers took off in high school, although that is where the similarities in their early lives end. Patrick was born to a poor family in Kingston, Jamaica and moved to Cambridge Massachusetts when he was 13 years old. Patrick was the 5th of seven children and he grew up playing soccer and cricket. It wasn’t until he moved to the United States that he was introduced to basketball.

Lockie realises in the end that his family is actually really caring and when Lockie started to appreciate them it made the relationship's with his Mum, Dad and younger brother stronger. “Me Mum once said that us kids made her and the old man real happy. I always remember that.” (Page 54).

As a medical student, Rameck had changed. He was a young man who stopped getting so easily intimidated. He was a young man that used his cocky and competitive attitude for the greater good to strive against others to get a better score on his school work. He did have his slip-ups every now and then but that didn’t stop him from becoming a great doctor. His insidious attitude stayed, but Rameck left it behind.
I do it because I love the sport and want to help out the community. In most of the classes the concept of being honest is always brought up, it has a major influence on my line of work. It’s a major factor because games need to be played fairly. It’s always brought and will always be a serious matter. As a student, there are many events that test your integrity in the classrooms.
